Our Story

At Germantown Pediatric and Family Medicine, our vision is to provide outstanding medical care for patients from birth in a warm, personalized and caring environment. Our three medical providers go above and beyond to provide outstanding care for every patient who walks through our doors.

Dr. Jaya Venkataraman is a Board-Certified Pediatrician with over twenty years of experience in caring for children. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, an affiliation that signifies a commitment to the highest standards of Pediatrics. Dr. Jaya completed her Pediatric Residency Training at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Since moving to Memphis, she has worked at the Pediatric Emergency Room at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and at its Pediatric Urgent Care Centers. Dr. Jaya manages all aspects of a child’s illness from birth through college and has a special interest in Child Development and Pediatric Allergy, particularly in the management of children with asthma. Dr. Jaya enjoys spending time with her husband, Jagan, and daughter Jahnavi, and understands the challenges and joys of raising a well-balanced child. Her hobbies include traveling and tending to her garden and exotic potted plants.

Dr. Sam Askandar is a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician. Dr. Askandar’s extensive background in General Surgery, Craniofacial Surgery, and Reconstructive Microvascular Surgery coupled with being awarded Best Resident Physician from Memphis’s Church Health Center during his training speaks volumes to how much Dr. Askandar values the importance of providing thorough and compassionate medical care for patients of all ages. Dr. Askandar will be able to provide in-depth care for conditions such as obesity, high blood-pressure, and diabetes while also offering some urgent care services such as splinting, wound care, and suturing. Dr. Askandar enjoys spending time with his wife and children. His hobbies include hiking, biking, and being outdoors.

N.P. Jessica Robbins is a Board-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practicioner with over thirteen years of experience in caring for children. Like Dr. Jaya, Jessica is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Jessica completed her medical training in Tennessee after obtaining her doctorate in Nursing Practice from UT with a speialization in Pediatrics. She manages children from birth through 21 years of age and has a special interest in management of children with behavioral issues, including ADHD.
