AMP volunteers teamed up with the adaptive lead guides from Boulders Climbing Gym East for a multi-day site tour at Mississippi Palisades in Savanna, IL—mapping safe climbing routes and accessible kayak launches for our 2026 season.

Year-round access starts with thoughtful scouting. Onward! 🧗‍♀️🛶

From Florida to Iowa, Karen shines at the National Disabled Veterans Golf Clinic in Riverside, IA. 🌟
Welcomed by U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins, she joins veterans from across the country to celebrate perseverance, purpose, and the power of adaptive sports.

With 5 AMP volunteers alongside adaptive groups nationwide, the NDVGC fosters friendships, resilience, and unforgettable moments outdoors. 🇺🇸⛳

From Florida to Wisconsin to Argentina 🌍

Our Board Member Karen Atkinson participated in our 3-day program, then headed straight to Argentina to launch Valor Without Borders - bringing adaptive sports worldwide.

“Imagine the miracle of taking someone from their home to the top of a mountain and teaching them to ski—for a day, they get to feel life.”

AMP is proud to partner with Greencorps Chicago Youth Program and Urban Rivers to bring adaptive kayaking to urban communities on the Wild Mile!

This partnership means we’re expanding beyond Lauderdale Lakes to create accessible paddling experiences for individuals with disabilities in the heart of the city.

What makes water sports “adaptive”? 🌊

We use specialized equipment and techniques to make the water accessible for everyone. Sit-skis, modified boards, adaptive paddles - whatever gets you out there safely!

No experience needed. Our volunteers work with each person to find what works best.
