CSC and Chaplain of the Irish Brigade, gave General Absolution to his men on the fields of Gettysburg. Identical statues of Father Corby stand on the battlefield as well as on the grounds of Notre Dame, a gift from the Irish Brigade, to honor their beloved Chaplain.
