Officer Tom Ahlers was awarded the Robert Bunker Award for Outstanding Performance by the Northeast Colleges and University Security Association today. In late August, Tom witnessed a student struck by a vehicle. He immediately jumped into action, ensuring a safe scene and initializing patient care. The actions taken by Tom that day created a favorable outcome for the student who returned to campus later that semester. Although Tom will say that he "was just doing his job", the actions Tom took that day were truly heroic, and he is well deserving of this award. Gettysburg College
