Here's an article on meal prep that you might find helpful.

This is how I have always prepped my food, although I never referred to it as "component cooking".

I've always thought of it like the old Chinese restaurants, where you could build a combination meal by picking certain items from column A and pairing them with other items from column B. If you have enough components prepped, you can build plenty of combinations to keep you well fed on a good variety of meals for the week.

Right now, I could build a chicken salad, or have chicken with rice or sweet potato. Or taco meat on a sweet potato, or a taco salad. Or a tuna salad with hard boiled eggs. Or egg salad in a low-carb wrap. Or a burger with a sweet potato...You get the idea.

Prepping this way isn't as rigid as assembling whole individual meals to refrigerate or freeze. I like the relaxed approach and the flexibility.

Bring more convenience, ease, and variety to mealtime with this batch-cooking method favored by foodies.

Lunch today is a chicken salad. The key to good, quick meals like this is all in the prep. This took me about 5 minutes to throw together.

I always have diced veggies on hand, as well as hard boiled eggs. I made the pulled chicken this weekend.

I could have also topped this with tuna or taco meat. I also have frozen burgers I could have crumbled on top like a "steak" salad. Use whatever you have on hand!

Paleo banana bread. 🍌

The link to recipe is in the comments.

The only modifications I made were adding walnuts to both loaves, and a few tablespoons of dark cocoa powder to one.

Here is the 2025 edition of the "Dirty Dozen" and "Clean 15" from the Environmental Working Group.

If you're not familiar with the list, it's a ranking of produce by pesticide content. The "Dirty Dozen" rank as the highest pesticide content, while the "Clean 15" contain the least amount of pesticides, as tested.

You might opt for the organic versions of the Dirty Dozen produce if you are concerned about pesticide content.

It's not something we like to talk about, but your p**p is a good indicator of your digestive health.

The vast majority of us don't get enough fiber in our diets, which can prevent the formation of healthy stools, pushing you to either end of the Bristol Stool Chart. We can all land anywhere on this chart at any point in time, but ideally we would like to live most consistently at a 3 or 4.

Adequate fiber is critical to good digestive health. If you're not consistently getting a minimum of 25-30 grams daily, you need to up your intake of fruits, veggies, nuts, and beans.

If you still find meeting your fiber goals through your diet to be a challenge, Fiber MGP from Orthomolecular Products is the ideal supplement to take up the slack.

Fiber MGP helps to feed the good bacteria in your gut, supports healthy digestion and regularity, and promotes overall gut and metabolic wellness. It also helps support your body's natural GLP-1 production, which is a key hormone for appetite control. It has become my go-to fiber supplement.

If you need to up your fiber game, you can get Fiber MGP at the office. Give it a good 30 days and see how much better you can feel!

For a quick, low-carb dish packed with protein, don't forget the trusty taco salad (minus the chips). 🌮🥗

Low-carb doesn't have to mean chicken and broccoli every night.
