If your car was making grinding noises, you wouldn’t ignore it until the wheels fell off on the freeway.
But women do this to their bodies all the time.
Yesterday I had to replace the front brakes on my car.
I really didn’t *want* to spend several hundred dollars on car maintenance. No one wakes up excited to do that.
But I didn’t hesitate either.
Because my car is how I get around. It gets me to work. It gets my kids where they need to go. It keeps my life moving.
So when the warning signs showed up… I handled it. I didn’t debate it or procrastinate (ok, I did procrastinate a little), and I didn’t tell myself I would “just wait and see” - I took care of it.
And it got me thinking about how many women treat their cars better than their own bodies.
Your body has warning lights too:
🚨 Your stomach is flat in the morning but bloated by evening
🚨 The weight that used to come off easily won’t budge anymore
🚨 You wake up between 2–4am and can’t fall back asleep
🚨 Brain fog so bad you forget words mid-sentence
🚨 You’re relying on antacids or digestive aids
🚨 You don’t trust food becasue of digestive issues after meals
🚨 Hormones that feel like they’re running the show
🚨 Utter exhaustion even though you slept all night
🚨 Feeling 10–20 years older than your actual age
But instead of pulling into the shop and figuring out what’s going on… you keep driving.
You tell yourself you’re “fine” and you’ll deal with it later.
Or worse, you convince yourself it’s too expensive, too inconvenient, or “just part of getting older.”
Or maybe you take something that turns the warning light off… while the engine problem is still there.
Meanwhile the engine light has been on for three years 🫣
Mechanics don’t guess what’s wrong with your car, and you shouldn’t be guessing about your body either.
You deserve the same level of care and attention you give the things that keep your life running.

Your body isn’t something you limp along in until it completely breaks down.
