Harbor RN Patient Advocates, PLLC

Harbor RN Patient Advocates, PLLC Like you, we see firsthand that America’s health care system is ridiculously complex. Do you need someone nearby to help you navigate your care?

When you or your loved ones get sick, you have to rush around to manage insurance, appointments, specialists, medications, and procedures. Your doctors are busier than they used to be, so they have less time to explain your illness or guide you through care. While coping with the stress of illness, you may forget to ask for more information. These challenges increase the risk for medical errors, misdiagnoses, medication conflicts, and other avoidable health complications. You need a health advocate to keep you safe, someone whose only concern is to see you get well. At Harbor RN Patient Advocates we take the time to help you understand what is going on with your health, because we believe that the more you know about your medical condition, the more power you have to take charge and make informed decisions for your care. As your advocate we are your partner in the room who won’t take no for an answer, who will help you understand medical diagnoses and medications, who can stay calm at your side and hold your hand, who records what the doctor says and remembers to ask questions, and who will speak up to insist that your health care team explore the best options for treatment and recovery. Are you a caregiver who needs a helping hand? We’re available to assist families in Kitsap and Pierce Counties. Call us today for your free 30 minute consultation (253) 224-3316

"Advocacy is now identified both as a component of ethical nursing practice and as a philosophical principle underpinning the nursing profession and helping to assure the rights and safety of the patient. Nurses are seen as advocates both when working to achieve desired patient outcomes and when patients are unable or unwilling to advocate for themselves." I just found this quote and thought it was a good explanation of what I do.

See my website at www.harborRN.com. I start marketing this week--going out to Assisted Living Facilities and doctor's offices to let them know there is help available for their residents and patients. I am so excited because I know how much this service is needed. With the Affordable Care Act in place, so many more people have health insurance that the doctor's offices are swamped. Doctors are having to see so many more patients per day and have less time than ever to spend with their patients.
