I am always seeking new added ways to nurture the human spirit and offer ways to connect us to our best selves, nature and our great Creator. This year I stumbled into Sound Healing with Singing Bowls. I have been learning through a wonderful Thai instructor about the science, history and technique of Tibetan Sound Bowls. I invested in this learning and some quality handmade bowls out of Kathmandu, Nepal. Metal Bowls originate from Himalayan Regions of Tibet, Nepal + Bhutan. The process of making them involves heating the metals of bronze alloy (primarily copper + tin) in a furnace and then hand hammering them into shape. I always geek out on The Science' of things. I love to learn how things impact our brains, bodies and environment. Hearing sound bowls as well as FEELING their vibration can greatly impact The Central Nervous System (the body's command center aka brain and spinal cord) as well as The Vagus Nerve (our bodies cranial nerve which acts as the main highway for the parasympathetic nervous system). If you know anything about massage you activate or engage the PNS through calming techniques like massage. Also, deep breath work, meditation, nature, yoga and even laughter. Think of it like ironing out wrinkles deep in your body's internal systems. Or choppy waves being calmed to serene glass like waters. Sound bowls help you get there and almost instantly. I've experienced it myself and I witness it with all my clients who have added them into their Thai Session. It's mysterious and profound but really just basic science. It calms nervousness, anxiety, anger, insomnia, pain, impacts from PTSD, OCD and other traumatic experiences that get lodged into our physical/mental/emotional body.

I am now offering an add on of these beautiful handmade bowls into a 90Min or 120Min Thai Session for just $20.

Quick Reminder: My massage rates are increasing in the new year to accommodate increased cost of living and business and I genuinely try to keep these to a minimum so that everyone has access to healing bodywork while still being able to provide for my family and cover my business costs.

Fitness Friday Tip you can take into 2026 with me! Don't skip leg day and here is why!

I just read a study that completely changed how I think about leg day—and it has nothing to do with how you look in shorts.

Researchers followed 324 sets of identical twins for 10 years. Same DNA, same upbringing, same genetics. The only real difference? One twin had stronger legs than the other.

A decade later, they scanned their brains. The twin with stronger legs had sharper memory, better reasoning skills, and healthier brain scans. More grey matter. Less age-related brain shrinkage. Better cognitive function across the board.

Here's the kicker: leg strength was a BETTER predictor of brain health than any other lifestyle factor they measured—including heart health, diet, and general physical activity levels.

Your legs contain your body's largest muscle groups. When you train them hard, you're not just building quads and hamstrings. You're pumping neurotrophic factors like BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) that literally grow new brain cells. You're improving blood flow to your brain. You're reducing inflammation that accelerates cognitive decline.

Spent the weekend with the best of humanity .and.pine.massage co-hosting a magical and beautiful Winterfair Market at her sacred & healing space. Alot of wonderful handcrafted items from medicinal and beautifying Apothecary to Artisan Bread & Baked Goods to Handcrafted Charcuterie Boards and to Candles & Art to Plants and Macrame! The Sun came out and we delighted in every visitor that came leaving behind a deep gratitude and joy for creative, healing community. A great way to be in Season reminding us its not about the hustle and bustle of buying and running yourself ragged. Its about slowing down to be present, quality and intentional gift giving and togetherness.

is just my way of making a intentional point in the busy-ness of life to do something that is caring towards myself and that often means things that benefit my physical, emotional, spiritual self. Moving in nature. Making things with my hands. Being with my animals, making a nourishing meal. Just slowing down and creating space to be able to do that makes me feel loved. I like spending time with myself and after a very busy family friend focus week today was a great day to do this. Sometimes naps are in my list or a good book. Phoning a friend or scrubbing my tub so I can have a nice bath. Cleaning out a drawer or washing my car. They all can be ways you take care of yourself.

It doesn't make you selfish. Because when you take care of yourself, others don't have the burden of being everything for you. It also feels loving and when you feel loved by yourself is so much easier and more authentic to love others in this way. A healthier you is the gift you give others that matter to you and to the world around you.
