The Voices of Our Residents series continues at Heron’s Key with Building Community. ☀️ The Sea to Sun Walkathon continues, and our residents and team members are stepping up in a big way! A little friendly competition is fueling the fun as we make our way south together.

So far, we’ve logged 10,371 miles as a community 🎉 — with our leading team making it all the way to the Bay Area. Not before we gathered for a sweet pit stop in Oregon to celebrate with local ice cream and berry pie.

Now it’s back to logging those miles as we continue our journey toward the finish line. Go teams!

While the rain gives us a brief summer pause, we’re still basking in the beauty of the garden at Penrose Harbor!

Our new gazebo is officially unveiled, offering the perfect shady spot to sit and enjoy the vibrant blooms, from stunning roses to cheerful dahlias. This space is lovingly maintained by our talented assisted living residents, many of whom bring a lifetime of gardening wisdom and passion to every petal and plant.

A big thank you to all who help this space thrive, what a joy to see it in full bloom! 🌺🌼

The Sea to Sun Walkathon is officially underway at Heron’s Key, and we’re off to a strong start!🚶‍♀️🌞

Our 14 teams, made up of residents and staff, are working together to log enough miles to walk from Seattle all the way to Tijuana. With one week down, we’ve already logged over 1,100 miles!

This friendly competition is more than just steps—it’s about building connections, forming healthy habits, and cheering each other on. We’ll be walking through September, so stay tuned as we celebrate milestones, movement, and meaningful moments along the way!
