Today we mourn the loss of Gila River Police Officer, Joshua Briese who gave the ultimate sacrifice, and lost his life in the line of duty early this morning.

Officer Briese was the son of a Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Dave Briese, who died in the line of duty on Nov. 3, 2006 in Montana.

Typically the children of the fallen are taken care of by the departments of which their parent worked. This often times lead them to want to be in a career associated with such camaraderie.

The mothers, widows, siblings, family members, and friends of those left behind often struggle with supporting the officers to be, as they want to pursue such an honorable career.

This is every family’s, worst nightmare in law enforcement. Please keep the Briese family and Gila River Police Department in your thoughts during this difficult time.
