As Down Syndrome Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re reminded that awareness is all about creating a world where everyone is seen, supported, and included. 💙

Down Syndrome is the most common chromosomal condition in the U.S., with about 1 in every 700 babies born with it. Today, more than 400,000 people in the U.S. are living, learning, working, and thriving with Down Syndrome.

From graduating college to living independently, individuals with Down Syndrome continue to show the power of possibility when inclusion and opportunity come together.

“My commitment to serving our members is rooted in my personal journey with my 18-year-old son, who was diagnosed at age 3 with Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, receptive and expressive language delay, and Autism. His experiences have profoundly shaped my dedication to helping others within our community. This led me to create a social media support group for families navigating similar paths, and I also became a provider, working directly with members to help them achieve their goals and develop new skills tailored to their individual needs.

All of these experiences have led me to my current role as the Director of the Hispanic Division at Kindness Evolves. Here, I’ve been fortunate to support our bilingual community, as well as all the families and members within Kindness Evolves.

I am excited to continue providing you with the exceptional support that defines Kindness Evolves.”

Caregiving is rewarding… but it’s also demanding.

That’s why even the smallest breaks can have a big impact. Think of them as “resets” for your body and mind:

Hydration Reset: A sip of cold water, herbal tea, or even a favorite soda helps with focus, energy, and mood - three things every caregiver needs in their corner.

Sensory Pause: Lighting a candle, putting on calming music, or stepping outside for fresh air gives your senses a chance to shift gears. This little pause can lower stress, calm your nervous system, and bring you back into the moment.

Text a Friend: A quick check-in or funny meme can lift your spirits instantly. It can be one of the quickest ways to shake off stress!
