🤔Hospital systems have spent a century dismissing and marginalizing home birth and midwifery care—yet here we are again, with marketing that sells their birthing suites as “home-like.”

The real question is: why not support and collaborate with the actual providers delivering safe, effective, relationship-based care in real homes?

Planned home birth with qualified midwives is associated with:

👉🏻 Excellent outcomes for low-risk pregnancies

👉🏽 Fewer inductions and cesareans.

👉 High client satisfaction

👉🏾 Lower intervention rates

👉🏿 Respectful, continuous, one-on-one care

Still, most hospitals:

👎🏻 Refuse to integrate community midwives

👎🏼 Fail to develop two-way transfer systems

👎🏿 Replicate hotel aesthetics instead of care quality

We don’t need prettier rooms. We need structural respect for the midwifery model of care.

I had a client’s husband unknowingly pay me the hugest compliment yesterday.
I was presenting the information regarding the infant metabolic screening ( PKU) .. and he said
“Nicole always gives the most neutral presentations.. I can never figure out which way she leans”
I said “YESS!!! That is my entire goal!!”

I really believe that with all the information , people are not only capable of making their own decisions, but should be given the credit to hold the responsibility
Not just regarding metabolic screening , or any of the Things that come up in the course of prenatal care. But in life.

It’s never my goal to bend you to my will, or influence you with my opinions. Of course if you ask for my opinion I’ll give it. 🙃

I’m just here to provide light along the path.

With me you learn to trust your instincts.
You have to learn to think deeply about your responsibilities. You’ll have homework.
No easy button.
If every provider operated this way, oh how the world could change.

But maybe by always putting the ball in your court , I actually AM bending you to my will

Babies that don’t get stuck
For no tearing
For babies that cry right away
Placentas that come out easily
For uterus’ that cramp right up
For minimal bleeding
And for the skill of my hands
Thank you Lord for families that rejoice in adding to their generations
And that i get to be witness
Thank you for answering my prayer today
