Is your dopamine waiting for a signal? ☀️

If you struggle with task initiation and “morning dread,” your brain might be missing its primary timing cue.

Dopamine is the neurotransmitter responsible for motivation and focus. It doesn’t just appear. It is influenced by the light that enters your eyes first thing in the morning. This light sets the “timer” for your entire day, telling your brain when to be alert and when to eventually wind down.

For the ADHD brain, which already struggles with dopamine regulation, this morning “anchor” is non-negotiable.

The Reframe: Focus isn’t something you force; it’s something you cultivate by honoring your biological needs.

The most validating part of Human Design?

It’s not putting yourself in a box.

It’s finally understanding patterns you’ve experienced your entire life.

Why you make decisions the way you do.
Why your energy works differently.
Why your body responds differently under stress.
Why certain environments completely drain you.
Why rest may not look the same for you as it does for someone else.

The state of your nervous system matters…a lot. Especially when it comes to health.

I’m reflecting on how I expected to gain a few pounds after eating like a king this past weekend at a retreat. The food was AMAZING and I enjoyed every bite.

What’s interesting is that I think I actually lost a couple pounds. 🤔

This weekend was a complete nervous system reset. Even though I was facilitating, my nervous system was in parasympathetic all weekend.

This wasn’t stress eating. This wasn’t emotional eating. It was pleasure, gratitude, and nourishment.

And my body loved every minute.

Your digestive issues, your weight loss resistance, your food sensitivities…are all impacted when you are in a sympathetic state.

Start there.

Being a Projector is such an interesting experience.

You’re just sitting there noticing everything…
seeing patterns…
understanding people

and also trying not to say anything unless you’re actually invited in.

Which is harder than it sounds when you can literally see what would help.

There’s this constant moment of, do I say something? Or, do I wait? And when you do wait for the right invitation, you can feel the difference.

It feels like alignment. No resistance. People are actually open. They hear you. What you say clicks. Ahhh…finally!

But the in between can feel like
OK I have the answer… just waiting over here ⏳

Or worse…you can’t help yourself and you share anyway. You can feel the resistance. It feels like rejection. The bitterness creeps in.

This is exactly why I blend Human Design with the work I do.

Because if you’re anything like me…
you’ve spent most of your life trying to keep up with energy that was never yours to sustain.

You can feel fully on—clear, energized, in flow…
and then suddenly hit a wall out of nowhere.

For a long time, I thought something was wrong with me.
Like I just needed more discipline… more consistency… more willpower.

But that was never the issue.

I didn’t need to push harder.
I needed to understand how my energy actually works.

When to lean in.
When to step back.
When to be in other people’s energy…
and when to come back to my own.

Because rest, for me, isn’t laziness.
It’s regulation.
It’s how my nervous system recalibrates.
It’s where clarity comes back online.

And when I started honoring that…
everything shifted.

If you feel like you’re doing everything right… and you’re still exhausted. I see you.

Like truly.

You’re eating well, taking the supplements, trying to be consistent…
and your body just isn’t responding the way you expected it to.

That’s not because you’re doing it wrong.

It’s usually because no one told you this part…your body doesn’t just care about what you’re doing. It cares about when.

Your circadian rhythm is what tells your body when to make energy, when to repair, when to wind down.

So if that’s off, even the “right” things can feel like they’re not working.

This is where I see so many people get stuck.
They are trying to do more, fix more, add more when their body is actually asking for something different.

Less force.
More alignment.
