Be aware of this automatic opt-in "feature" when you upgrade!
In EHR version 23.4, Veradigm EHR will automatically opt you into Datasync. This may pose a serious problem if you don't want to share data on your patients with "a network of 100+ payers" by default.
This is what we read from Veradigm when we inquired about Datasync, an user account that was created by Veradigm when we upgraded to the latest EHR version.
"I would like to inform you that the account Datasync, VPI is associated with the new VPI feature in EHR version 23.4. Which is the reason why you can see this user now after the upgrade.
VPI_Datasync is Varadigm Payer Insight and this user is used to a 3rd party service which Veradigm provides.
The functionality of this service :
VERADIGM PAYER INSIGHTS (VPI) is a dynamic new solution which Payers can use to sliver care gap alerts to their providers, within the patient's electronic health record (EHR), as part of a network of 100+ payers. Alerts contain relevant, patient-specific considerations for the provider to evaluate, respond and address with the patient.

This user is created by the system after the upgrade to communicate with the VPI service. Please be rest assured there is nothing to worry about as this user is added after the upgrade to EHR version 23.4 and it has been added for all the clients.
Since this is associated with a new feature, we don't have to delete this user from EHR as it is a default system added user after the upgrade.
You can choose opt out of VPI.
Please find the link below, it will give you more insights on this.

1. That Datasync user has been deleted from our system to protect patient data.
2. This "feature" should be an automatic opt-out, and not automatic opt-in.
3. We will opt out. You should seriously reconsider opening up your entire EHR to a "network of 100+ payers".
Let me know what you think.
