“Does it hurt?!” is the most common question we get asked by new patients. Acupuncture needles are meant to alleviate pain rather than induce pain!

When patients receive their first acupuncture treatment, they feel a variety of sensations. Some people experience a poke or pinch, you may feel it in some places, you may not feel it at all. An enjoyable tingling sensation may be experienced as well.

It rarely occurs that a patient feels any pain after a needle is inserted; if so, your practitioner will make any adjustments needed.

Our licensed acupuncturists have attended acupuncture school, have a master’s degree, a professional license and were required to have thousands of hours of training. This means that our practitioners have extensive training and knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine compared to a chiropractor or physical therapist.
