Our Tucson team recently had such a wonderful visit Starfish Care Homes Indian Ridge.

Residents enjoyed painting and watercolors while sharing lemonade, pastries, laughter, and conversation. Our team loved assisting residents with their artwork and introducing mindful creative techniques that encourage mental wellness, relaxation, and socialization.

Moments like these are a beautiful reminder of how creativity and connection can brighten someone’s day.

Terrance didn’t want a hospital room.

That’s one of the biggest myths we hear.

The truth? Hospice is about living comfortably, supported, and surrounded by care for the time you have left — not just the final moments.

Nurses, aides, chaplains, volunteers, and an entire team helping patients live well, not just pass away.

And the sentence we hear most from families?

“I wish we had called hospice sooner.”

We’re so grateful to spotlight Rachael, one of our incredible companionship volunteers who brings comfort, connection, and kindness to every visit 🤍

Rachael was inspired to serve so no one has to face their final chapter alone. She believes each person’s story—and their dignity—should define their final days, not their diagnosis.

Her favorite part? Sitting, listening, and learning from the beautiful life stories our patients share. She reminds us that even the smallest moments can bring real comfort and light.

Her advice: “Absolutely do it!” Hospice volunteering is a deeply meaningful way to make a difference and build genuine connections.
