👻 Hey BOO! Here’s a friendly Halloween reminder ⤵️

The path to recovery isn’t linear. It’s okay if you…

⭐️Have setbacks
In this path to healing, it's absolutely okay to have setbacks; they're just part of the process. Each one is an opportunity to learn, adapt, and become even stronger💪🏼

⭐️Need a break
Taking a break is not just okay; it's essential. Rest is not a sign of weakness but a sign of self-love💗

⭐️Are scared of recovery
I know…change can be daunting, especially when you've developed coping mechanisms around your eating disorder. But you should be willing to go out of your comfort zone! 🥐

⭐️Prioritize your mental health
Your mental health is as important as your physical health, and YOU SHOULD prioritize it. Your emotional well-being is a vital part of your healing journey🧠

⭐️Need more support
You don't have to navigate this path alone. It's perfectly okay to admit when you need more support and actually seek it promptly. I’m here to empower you every step of the way! 🎉

👉🏻So, are you ready to to start your road to recovery with the support of a dietitian? 📣

Send me a DM and let’s chat! 💌

LESS-COMMON eating disorder signs ⤵️

It's important to remember that eating disorders can take many different forms and may not always be visible to others.

Here are just a few less common signs I see:

🧑‍🍳 Cooking and baking food without actually eating it can be a sign of disordered eating, particularly if someone feels a sense of satisfaction from preparing food but doesn't allow themselves to enjoy it.

📺 Watching "mukbang" videos or obsessively following food bloggers on social media may also indicate disordered eating behaviors, particularly if someone feels guilty or ashamed about their own eating habits. People with eating disorders might try to satisfy their own hunger by watching others eat the foods they won’t allow themselves.

🥦 Preoccupation with "clean" eating or avoiding certain food groups can be a sign of orthorexia, a type of disordered eating characterized by an obsession with healthy eating.

🚫 Not eating around others or avoiding social situations that involve food can be a sign of anxiety or shame around eating.

🔪 Engaging in obsessive food rituals, such as cutting food into tiny pieces or arranging it on their plate in a specific way before eating, may indicate a need for control around food.

If you or someone you know is exhibiting any of these behaviors, it's important to seek help from a qualified healthcare professional.

Eating disorders can have serious physical and emotional consequences, but with the right support, recovery is possible. 💛

Can you relate to any of the signs above?! 💭

Here are some common signs of disordered eating:

1️⃣ You think about food 24/7. Food preoccupation can look like frequently asking yourself questions about what you’re eating, when you’re eating, how many calories are in the food, and more.

2️⃣ You notice increased anxiety around food. Increased anxiety around food can look different for everybody. Maybe you get anxious when someone else prepares your meals, when you go out to eat, or when you’re not sure about how many calories are in something.

3️⃣ You're avoiding certain foods or cutting out food groups. Shoutout to carbs, the often demonized macronutrient 😩. People with disordered eating may become obsessed with new diet trends or dietary restrictions (i.e. “all carbs are bad”, or going on a gluten-free diet if you’re not gluten intolerant).

4️⃣ You're starting to avoid social gatherings. Do you find yourself isolating yourself or declining plans because you’re afraid food will be involved?

5️⃣ You have rules around eating that may be disordered. This might look like eating foods in a specific order, cutting foods into small pieces, using smaller plates or utensils, or using excessive condiments to make food less appetizing.

6️⃣ You feel the need to compensate after eating food. Compensation can look like: over-exercising, restricting during your next meal or the next day, fasting, misuse of laxatives or diuretics, purging, only allowing yourself to eat “healthy” foods after, etc.

If you’re ready to break free from these disordered eating habits, then apply for my M.E.A.L. Method Program (LINK IN BIO!) 🎉

It funny how FB asks me the question “what’s on your mind “ when I open up a post.
The truth is EVERYTHING. Everything is on my mind all the time. From the time I wake to the time I go to bed. It’s all on my mind. So I work on getting things off my mind so I can just be.

I love this quote by Charlie Brown, because at the beginning and end of the day I sometimes forget that it’s in the good the bad, the family the friends, the pain and the pleasure, the ups and the downs. It’s ALL of it, that helps us become who we are and for that I am grateful to it all.

Today I am thankful for everything. Thanks Charlie Brown:)

I decided to try a meal service Blue Apron (not a sponsor). It was hit for three out of four members of the family, which is a win in my books. This was the enchilada bake which will leave us with plenty of leftover for tomorrow as well.
