🌟 Board & Committee Spotlight: Katrin Wagner 🌟

Katrin Wagner brings fresh energy and deep heart to her role on the CHF Board and Black Cat Ball Committee. New to the board in 2024, Katrin was drawn to the Foundation because of its meaningful, behind-the-scenes work that quietly transforms lives across our region.

“I love the different facets of the Foundation and the impact it makes in our community,” she says. “From supporting families burdened by medical bills due to cancer or terminal illness, to expanding access to mental health needs and more! So much of the giving happens without public recognition, but the impact I have witnessed in personal lives is remarkable.”

We’re thrilled to have Katrin on board and excited to see the impact she will continue to make through her leadership, service, and compassion.

Happy World Health Day!

At the Community Health Foundation, we believe in whole-person care; supporting not just physical health, but mental, emotional, and social well-being too. In rural communities like ours in Northeast Wyoming, access to healthcare isn’t always a given. National data shows rural residents face greater barriers to care and that’s why programs like ours matter right here at home.

Together, we’re making sure everyone has a chance to live healthier, fuller lives.

New Cancer Exercise Program Starting in April đź’Ş

Staying active during or after cancer treatment can make a powerful difference in recovery and quality of life. That’s why Rehab Solutions Physical Therapy is offering a 6-week Cancer Exercise Program designed specifically for cancer survivors and individuals in active treatment who are medically cleared for exercise.

Led by Tiffany Nielsen, PT and Emily Swanson, PTA, both specially trained in oncology rehabilitation, this program provides safe, evidence-based exercise in a supportive small-group setting.

📅 April 13 – May 21, 2026
👥 Small group sessions (max 8 participants)
🏋️ 2 sessions per week for 6 weeks

Participants may experience:
• Increased strength, endurance, and balance
• Reduced cancer-related fatigue
• Greater confidence returning to physical activity
• Improved overall quality of life and emotional well-being

Programs like this help survivors safely rebuild strength and regain control of their health after cancer treatment.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this program, reach out to Rehab Solutions at 307.686.8177 to learn more.

Thanks to the generosity of the donors in our community, participant fees for this program are fully sponsored by the Cancer Care Committee of the Northeast Wyoming Community Health Foundation.

Last night, the Foundation hosted our 4th Annual Cancer Survivor Dinner—an evening devoted to honoring the strength, resilience, and hope of local survivors who have received support from our Cancer Care Committee. Each survivor attended with a loved one by their side, making the night a powerful celebration of courage, connection, and community.

We were honored to hear from Margaret Barnes, MD, who shared insights about the evolving advances in cancer treatment. We also heard from Eric Barlow, Wyoming State Senator, who spoke about his personal experiences with cancer and shared a brief update following the recent Budget Session, along with the Stem Cell Freedom Act. We are deeply grateful for their leadership and their commitment to caring for neighbors in our community.

Attendees enjoyed a wonderful meal at The Prime Rib, and thanks to our incredibly generous sponsors, this entire celebration was completely free for every survivor and guest. That kind of generosity speaks volumes. That’s neighbors helping neighbors.

With sincere gratitude, thank you to our sponsors:
✨ Campbell County Health
✨ Campco Federal Credit Union
✨ L&H Industrial
✨ Rehab Solutions Physical Therapy

And heartfelt thanks to: Cargill Family Properties • Ketel Thorstenson, LLP • Kissack Water & Oil Service • Target Signs Co. • TenderCare, LLC • Thurston Family • Kelly Sams

Your generosity helped create an evening filled with dignity, warmth, and celebration—reminding every survivor in the room that they are seen, valued, and never alone.

The Survivor Dinner is a beautiful reminder that in our community, no one walks through cancer alone.

Thank you for standing with our neighbors when it matters most. đź’›

Some months bring many requests. Other months, just one.

But for the person facing cancer, that one grant can mean everything.

In March, the Cancer Care Committee approved $2,500 in assistance for a local individual navigating a cancer diagnosis. Because of the generosity of this community, help was ready when it was needed most.

Every gift ensures that when someone in our community hears the words “you have cancer,” they don’t have to face the financial burden alone. Thank you for helping us stand beside our neighbors during some of life’s hardest moments.

In February, seven neighbors received Hope Source grants totaling nearly $7,500 to access mental health counseling. And this month, we saw more of the same stories:
• A student without insurance
• Individuals facing very high deductibles
• Someone choosing the cash rate because it was more affordable — but still difficult to manage
• An employer who changed insurance providers, leaving no local mental health clinics covered

These aren’t rare situations. They’re happening right here in our community.

After reviewing the numbers, we’ve seen that demand for Hope Source assistance has grown nearly 50% year over year — reflecting both increased awareness and increased need for mental health services. While we’re encouraged that more individuals are reaching out for help, this growth also means we must continue strengthening the program to meet the rising demand.

To help sustain Hope Source for the future, we are hosting our first-ever Bids of Hope Online Auction, May 10–16 during Mental Health Awareness Week. You can support by:
• Donating an auction item
• Creating a themed basket
• Becoming an event sponsor ($100-$500): newcommunityhealth.org/bids-of-hope

Every sponsorship and every donated item helps us continue providing timely, confidential counseling assistance to individuals and families in our community.

Since launching in 2023, Hope Source has helped more than 150 neighbors access over $144,200 in mental health counseling across Campbell County and surrounding communities.

Your partnership ensures we can keep hope accessible when it’s needed most.

If you’d like to contribute an item, basket, or sponsorship, we would love to connect with you. DM us, or contact us at info@newcommunityhealth.org or 307.257.7057.
