We are proud to welcome Dr. Hammad Ali to our Rheumatology team!
Dr. Ali is a dual board-certified specialist in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, with advanced fellowship training in autoimmune skin diseases and rheumatology-dermatology. He brings more than 15 years of clinical and academic experience to his practice, with a special focus on complex autoimmune and connective tissue diseases.
His expertise includes managing conditions such as systemic and cutaneous lupus erythematosus (SLE & CLE), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis, dermatomyositis, vasculitis, and rare autoimmune blistering diseases. He also has specialized training in treating dermatological manifestations of rheumatological diseases—a unique skill set that allows him to care for patients whose conditions affect both the skin and joints.
Dr. Ali completed his Internal Medicine residency at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University, where he was twice named Resident of the Month and received the Professionalism Award upon graduation. He then completed a Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Kentucky, serving as Chief Rheumatology Fellow, followed by a Rheumatology Research Fellowship and a prestigious Rheumatology-Dermatology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.
Beyond patient care, Dr. Ali is actively involved in clinical and translational research, aiming to improve outcomes in autoimmune diseases, including pregnancy outcomes in lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, presented at major national and international conferences, and serves as a peer reviewer for multiple medical journals.
In every case, Dr. Ali takes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach, working closely with patients and fellow providers to ensure care plans address not only the disease—but the whole person.
