❓What is an Epidural Steroid Injection? ❓

An epidural steroid injection (ESI) delivers a steroid medication directly into the epidural space of the spine to relieve pain caused by irritated spinal nerves. By reducing inflammation around the nerve roots where they exit the spine, the injection can help alleviate pain in the neck, back, or limbs. While an ESI won’t cure arthritis or fix a herniated disc, it can be an effective way to manage and reduce pain.
