A couple of weeks ago I was asked a question that made me stop and think. A gentleman asked me since I typically take x-rays on new patients if I see enough out of the ordinary things to justify the routine x-ray. The answer to this is absolutely yes. What is often misunderstood when discussing x-rays is rarely do they guide me on how and what to adjust but much more often they guide me on what not to adjust, frequently identifying conditions ranging from minor to those needing immediate referral for further treatment from the patient’s primary care physician. At Gillette Chiropractic Center we are sensitive to the financial aspect of health care, with that in mind we do not recommend or offer testing or treatment we do not believe to be necessary and in the patient’s best interest. As a final thought, our cost difference for a new patient with x-rays versus a new patient without x-rays is $47.00. That makes for a pretty inexpensive look at your spine and the peace of mind that you are being treated as safely as possible. These x-rays are personal so no patient information is released.
