The Vietnam Women’s Memorial was dedicated in 1993 to honor the more than 250,000 women who served in the military during the Vietnam War and the approximately 11,000 who volunteered to serve in Vietnam. Fulfilling many roles, women were nurses, air traffic controllers, communication specialists, and intelligence officers.

An addition to the original design of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the sculpture by Texas artist Glenna Goodacre depicts three women around a fallen soldier. Eight yellowwood trees surround the sculpture in honor of the eight servicewomen who gave their lives in Vietnam. Those names are among the more than 58,000 names on the long black memorial wall nearby.

Make Every Day National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
You no longer have to wait for DEA's bi-annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to turn in unused, unwanted medications. As part of the Every Day is Take Back Day campaign, the community can dispose of old pharmaceutical drugs at locations nationwide.
As recently announced, DEA has registered a record number of authorized collectors – pharmacies and medical facilities – to collect unused and unwanted prescription drugs year-round. Since April 2017, DEA increased the number of year-round disposal locations from more than 2,200 to nearly 17,000.
Visit https://www.dea.gov/everyday-takeback-day and learn what you can do to stop drug misuse before it starts.
