The one where I was an educator. 💛

I loved teaching, more than anything. Very quickly the perfectionism part of me and people pleaser tried to level up to standards I was never going to stick to. I cared more and more about where students were coming from and the deeply rooted roots about where God had them. Their mental health was more attractive than their academic successes and performance.

I now, GET to be in a room with myself and former students, strangers, mothers, fathers, daughters, brothers, grandparents, caregivers, etc. and know that I am doing what the Lord needs me to do. I was equipped and then called to be in this position and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Education still has my heart ❤️ I will always support my teacher colleagues and friends. It’s HEART work for sure. 👍

Here’s to a new chapter. One I NEVER in a million years saw coming!

What if we truly started responding with, “you know, the past few days have been difficult but I know I’ll get through it”, or “honestly, I am really struggling right now, thank you for asking.” AND that being paired with empathy, comfort, compassion, support, and encouragement. INSTEAD of saying “Im fine, how are you?” Or, “I’m good and you?” Lets remove the burdens and lay them down. I am just as guilty as the next for the robotic response. Let us practice being WITH another human for a moment. 💛

I don’t stop caring the moment the session ends.

Sometimes I think about how that hard conversation landed for you. I wonder if you made it home okay after sharing something heavy. I celebrate the boundary you finally set. I hope the panic eased. I remember the grief date you mentioned. I notice your growth, even when you can’t see it yet.

You are not just a time slot on a calendar. You are a human being I hold with care, professionalism, and genuine compassion.

Therapy has boundaries, but within those boundaries, real care exists.
