🎉🅱️ This week, our CrossRoads residents embraced the chilly weather and headed to The Arc of Iroquois County for a fun-filled Bingo outing! 🌟

A few of our dedicated bingo lovers braved the cold to enjoy time at their Day Program and make new friends!

🏠🍬 What’s more fun than celebrating National Gingerbread Day at Gilman Healthcare Center? 🎉 Our residents had a blast decorating colorful and delicious gingerbread houses, bringing their creativity to life with icing and sweet treats! 🎨✨

Did you know that gingerbread houses have a rich history? They became popular in Germany during the 16th century, inspired by the fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel. Bakers began crafting elaborate edible houses adorned with candies, and soon, this delightful tradition spread across Europe and beyond!

🌟❤️ The holiday season is upon us, and this year, we kicked off the celebrations early at Gilman Healthcare Center! Our staff party on Wednesday afternoon was a heartwarming gathering filled with joy and gratitude.

We delighted in a delicious nacho bar, and our talented Director of Nursing, Donna, wowed everyone with an array of homemade cookies that were simply irresistible! 🎄🍪 With holiday music playing softly in the background, the atmosphere was filled with laughter and camaraderie.

Each staff member had the pleasure of choosing their own gift, making the day even more special. It’s wonderful moments like these that remind us of the incredible team we have and the warm community we build together.

🍰🎉 Happy National Sacher Torte Day! At Gilman Healthcare Center, we celebrated this delicious occasion by putting our own twist on the classic recipe. We used cherries instead of apricot, and it turned out so moist and flavorful! 😍🍒

A bit of history: The Sacher Torte was created in 1832 by Franz Sacher, a 16-year-old apprentice chef in Vienna, for Prince Wenzel von Metternich. This rich chocolate cake filled with apricot jam has become a beloved dessert around the world, but we love exploring variations too!

Our residents enjoyed this sweet treat, and it sparked conversations about their favorite desserts! What’s your favorite twist on a classic recipe? Share with us in the comments!
