Chosen by both staff and residents, Amber is the definition of dedication, compassion, and heart. With 43 years of service, her knowledge, kindness, and willingness to help anyone at any time make her truly one of a kind.

From starting in housekeeping and laundry as a student to becoming a Restorative CNA with specialized therapy training, Amber’s journey reflects her lifelong calling to care for others. Her top priority has always been our residents, and the bonds she forms with them are what make her impact so special.

As Amber says, “I was born to take care of people.” And we couldn’t agree more. Thank you, Amber, for everything you do — you are deeply appreciated today and every day. 💫

Meet Mrs. Winona Hoogstraat, a remarkable example of perseverance and recovery!

After facing spinal stenosis and general weakness, Mrs. Winona arrived from Riverside Healthcare requiring significant help for daily activities. However, thanks to her dedication and the exceptional care from our team, she made an inspiring transformation.

Through daily therapy sessions, Winona regained her independence. By the time she was ready to go home, she could move around, dress, and manage her medications on her own, showcasing the power of determination and effective therapy.

At Gilman Healthcare Center, located at 1390 Crescent St., Gilman, IL, we believe in setting higher standards for rehabilitation.
Our REX Therapeutics team is here to support both inpatient and outpatient therapy needs.

Meet Larry Bryson, our incredible Employee of the Month! Larry is a cherished member of our housekeeping team at Gilman Healthcare Center, known for always going the extra mile for our residents. ❤️

Larry's journey with us began seven years ago when his mother, Maeredith, was a resident. Since then, his unwavering dedication has shone through, especially in his compassionate care for those with special needs. His patience, tolerance, and good nature make such a significant impact daily!

As the first Employee of the Month since our program's restart in July 2022, Larry has gracefully adapted to changes, particularly during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. He's a true testament to our belief that everyone deserves to be cared for with love. 🏆

Thank you, Larry, for embodying the heart and spirit of Gilman Healthcare Center. We are so proud to have you on our team! 💙

🎉 Yesterday, we celebrated National Short Read Cookie Day at Gilman Healthcare Center! 🎂 In honor of Little Christmas, Nurse Tea surprised us with a delicious Three Kings Cake!

For those who might not know, the Three Kings Cake, or "Rosca de Reyes," is a traditional pastry enjoyed in many cultures to celebrate Epiphany. It represents the visit of the Three Wise Men to baby Jesus and is often enjoyed with family and friends on January 6th. Little Christmas, also known as the Feast of the Epiphany, marks the end of the Christmas season and is a time for sharing blessings and good wishes.

Thank you, Nurse Tea, for bringing us together with this tasty treat and for keeping our holiday spirit alive! 🌟❤️
