About Eden Doula

Welcome! I am so happy you’re here! My name is Stephanie Eden and I am a Birth Doula, serving families around the Bay Area through San Jose, Hollister, and Monterey. I am trained and certified through Childbirth International (2016/2017).

I attended my first birth in 2013 as a supporter of my best friend for her first baby. I had a natural and instinctual approach to caring for her throughout her pregnancy and birth, and it was then that I realized this was a gift and passion that I could follow! I was a friendly resource and support for several other friends and family members during their pregnancies and births while I considered my options, and in 2016, I decided that I was ready to enroll in a certifying program and start my own business.

My training through Childbirth International focused on communication skills, female physiology, and birth skills assignments and exams, along with practical service hours with clients. The completion of my certification as a Birth Doula has given me a wonderful foundation to start my business and have the knowledge and confidence to serve families during one of the most exciting and memorable times of their lives.

I have since served many families and have attended a variety of different births from lengthy and challenging, to rapidly progressive labors, first time mothers, mothers of many, blended families, single parent families, unmedicated births, cesarean births, etc. Every birth is different, special, and such an honor to be part of.

I have always loved to support, encourage, and motivate others. I spent 12 years as a member of the I.O.R.G., where I really developed a love for service. In my free time, I love to spend time outside, practice photography, discover new music and books, and hang out with my chickens and kitties.

My philosophy about pregnancy, birth, and the overwhelming world of decisions you are suddenly faced with, is that each family is different and unique, with different and unique needs and desires. I believe in the choices you make for yourself, and I trust you and the power of your body. No two births have ever been exactly the same, and one approach or philosophy doesn’t fit all! My goal is to provide each family with the care, support, attention to detail, and resources that fit their own family’s needs and desires.
