We provide care in our main hospital campus in Girard which consists of 25 patient beds and a 10 bed Senior Behavioral Health Unit. We also provide care in our four clinics located in Arma, Cherokee, Frontenac and Girard

Out with the old and in with the new! 🚧✨

Girard Medical Center is excited to begin construction for our new CT machine, which is scheduled to be installed by the end of the December. Today, we officially watched our old CT machine head out the door — making room for upgraded technology that will enhance the care we provide to our patients and community.

🫁 November is COPD Awareness Month

COPD doesn’t wait — and neither should you.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a long-term lung condition that makes it difficult to breathe. It includes diseases such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis, which cause airflow blockage and breathing-related problems.

More than 16 million Americans have been diagnosed with COPD — and millions more may have it without knowing. Recognizing the early signs can make a big difference in protecting your lung health.

Common Signs and Symptoms:
❗Shortness of breath, especially during daily activities
❗Chronic cough that won’t go away
❗Wheezing or chest tightness
❗Fatigue or feeling more tired than usual
❗Increased mucus or phlegm production
❗Frequent respiratory infections

COPD can affect adults of all ages — even as young as 20. Early diagnosis and treatment can slow the progression of the disease and improve quality of life.

At Girard Medical Center, our Respiratory Therapy Department offers:
