We also provide care in our four clinics located in Arma, Cherokee, Frontenac and Girard

At Girard Medical Center, some of the most meaningful care happens in the moments when patients are working to regain their independence. Our Occupational Therapy Department plays a vital role in helping individuals rebuild strength, confidence, and the ability to live life to the fullest.

Our Occupational Therapy team works with patients of all ages—guiding recovery after injury, surgery, or illness, and helping manage chronic or developmental conditions. From improving mobility and coordination to relearning everyday tasks like dressing, cooking, and returning to work, their impact reaches far beyond the therapy room.

Through personalized care plans and one-on-one support, our therapists focus on what matters most to each patient—helping them safely return to the activities and routines that bring purpose and joy to their lives.

Our Wound Care Team is offering FREE Foot Screenings on:
🗓 Monday, April 27th
⏰ 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Who should attend?
👣Patients with diabetes or pre-diabetes
👣Anyone experiencing numbness or tingling in their feet

💡 Did you know?
Diabetes can affect your body’s ability to heal and reduce pain sensation. Conditions like poor circulation (PAD) or nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) can cause injuries to go unnoticed—meaning small issues like cuts, blisters, or sores may become serious if left untreated.

🔎 A simple foot screening can help detect wounds or conditions early—before they become bigger problems.

🗣 “Early detection of a non-healing wound is extremely beneficial to the patient in terms of treatment,” says Douglas Brown, MD. “A screening may uncover a condition a patient didn’t even know they had.”

🚶‍♂️ Walk-ins are welcome, but we encourage you to schedule ahead!
