Tiffany Witter, Phlebotomist in the GMC Laboratory Department at Girard Medical Center, plays a vital role behind the scenes—making care possible for patients across our community. With more than 13 years of service, Tiffany represents a department built on experience, compassion, and trust.

The Laboratory team provides critical testing services that support nearly every area of patient care. From outpatient blood and urine collection to emergency department testing, EKGs, arterial blood gases (ABGs), and rapid testing for COVID, strep, flu, and RSV, the lab operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week—ensuring timely, accurate results when they matter most.

This is what being Rooted in Rural truly means—dedicated professionals working behind the scenes to deliver compassionate, trusted care close to home.

Venous and arterial ulcers are often linked to heart disease. 💔

Venous ulcers can develop when the valves in your lower leg veins are damaged, causing uncontrolled swelling.

Arterial ulcers result from decreased blood flow due to clogged arteries.

🔥 February is Burn Prevention Month! 🔥

Burns can happen in a flash—but proper care makes all the difference. Here’s what you need to know:

🔥Immediate Care for Minor Burns:
- Cool the burn under running cool (not cold) water for 10–20 minutes.
- Cover gently with a clean, non-stick bandage or cloth.
- Avoid breaking blisters or applying butter/ointments that can trap heat.
- Take pain relief like acetaminophen or ibuprofen if needed.

🔥For Severe Burns:
- Go to the ER immediately if the burn is large, deep, or on the face, hands, feet, or ge****ls.
- Seek urgent care if there’s severe pain, swelling, or signs of infection.

💡 Prevention Tips:
- Keep hot liquids, appliances, and matches out of reach of children
- Test bath water before getting in
- Use oven mitts and stay mindful while cooking
- Stay safe and protect your loved ones—because burns don’t wait, and neither should proper care! 💙

In this working supervisory role, you’ll:
✔️ Support clinic operations across all GMC locations
✔️ Float to clinics and provide clinical coverage as needed
✔️ Lead and support clinic staff
✔️ Assist with workflow improvements, quality reporting, and daily operations
✔️ Help enhance consistency in patient care and clinic performance

Management experience preferred.
40 hours per week | Full-Time

✨ We’re Grateful for Community Support! ✨

Girard Medical Center’s Senior Behavioral Health Department is honored to be the recipient of a $1,875 donation from Craw-Kan Cares — an employee‑led community fund dedicated to supporting the communities Craw-Kan serves.

This cycle’s theme focused on mental health, and we are thankful that Craw -Kan employees chose to support local behavioral health services. These funds will help us purchase a new patient lift for our department, enhancing both patient safety and quality of care.
