Mochi is a 5 year old Dachshund from Korea. He's a very sweet and loving fellow, but because of his anxiety he can only be adopted to a doxie savvy home. He is very shy, needs work on barking and anxiety issues. No cats, afraid of other dogs, older kids 12 and older ok. He is a darling loving boy, currently, working on crate training. Loves to be right next to you. Delightful young boy. Looking for that special forever home.

Do you know the signs of heartworm disease in your pet?

08/13/2025

August is Itchy Pet Awareness Month. Dermatitis is one of the top reasons for veterinary visits. Itchiness can be caused by parasites, infections or allergies.

Signs of allergic itch:
* Frequent licking, chewing, biting or scratching
* Excessive rolling, rubbing or scooting
* Recurrent ear problems
* Hair loss
* Body odor
* Rash, redness, greasy skin or scabs

The good news is that your veterinarian can help. If your pet shows these symptoms, please make an appointment with your veterinarian.

As we prepare for the Fourth of July, we want to remind you that our hospital will be closed for the holiday.

Now is the time to plan ahead for your pet’s comfort and safety.

Loud fireworks, unfamiliar guests, and hot weather can all be overwhelming for pets. To help them stay safe and calm:

• Prepare ahead of time with any needed medications or supplies
• Keep pets in a secure, quiet space indoors
• Double-check ID tags and microchip info
• Use music or white noise to reduce stress from fireworks

Wishing you and your furry companions a safe and peaceful holiday. For more tips on holiday safety, visit https://www.avma.org/resources/pet-owners/petcare/july-4-safety

Summer is heating up fast, and so do cars.

Even on a mild day, the inside of a vehicle can become dangerously hot in just minutes. Cracking the window does little to help, and shaded parking spots offer little protection as the sun shifts.

If the temperature outside is 70 degrees, your car can hit 104 degrees in just 30 minutes. At 80 or 90 degrees, it gets even worse. That heat builds quickly and puts pets at serious risk of heatstroke and death.

Young, senior, overweight, or short-muzzled pets are especially vulnerable.

Please don’t leave your pet unattended in a parked vehicle, even for a short time.

If you ever see a pet in distress in a hot car, try to locate the owner or call 911 and wait for help to arrive.

Let’s keep our pets safe this summer.
