We were founded in January of 2011 in an effort to improve and expand mental health treatment and education. Alliance is built on the premise of utilizing a strong team of professionals who collaborate with one another and the community to maximize what is best for those in need. Our professionals include Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Marriage and Family Therapy Associates, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselor Associates, Licensed Psychological Professionals, Licensed Psychological Associates and Targeted Case Managers with a Bachelors Degree in a Human Service Field.
Our mission is to form solid collaborative relationships with our clients through the use of evidence-based interventions while assisting each person in finding opportunities to realize their potential, increase hope that change and growth are possible, and improve the overall quality of their lives. We also believe that providing inspiration, humor and mental health education to everyone we can reach is of great importance. We are a company of people who believe in treating every human being with respect, equality and a helping hand.
We work with people of all ages and backgrounds. We provide a large range of services to include in-office for people in need of mental health treatment that are able to manage symptoms between weekly appointments to intensive in-home services for individuals who are at risk of being placed in foster care, a hospital or other higher level of care in order to keep them stabilized within their current home environment. The trauma of being taken from a persons family can be lifelong and we strive to prevent that in any way possible. We also provide in-school, in-community and now online services to reach as many people in need as possible! Although we provide predominantly mental health services, we also work with those who have substance use challenges. Alliance has an AODE license (Alcohol and Other Drug Entity through the Office of Inspector General), where we provide DUI services including Prime for Life educational classes, outpatient groups and individual counseling.
Alliance Counseling has providers who are on most major private insurance panels to include Anthem, Aetna, Humana, TriCare, etc. as well as all Kentucky Medicaid MCO’s. Since the Alliance team believes in giving back to the community we also have a program called Alliance Outreach where we have supervised masters level interns providing counseling sessions to individuals free of charge.
Some common focus areas of treatment are: issues related to adolescents or early childhood, depression, anxiety, grief, obsessions and compulsions, substance use, interpersonal conflicts, poor self esteem or self worth, anger management, impulse control, trauma and abuse (physical, sexual and/or emotional), attention deficit or hyperactivity, out of control behaviors, mood instability to include the sub-types of Bipolar Disorder, family or marital issues, challenges associated with mid-life issues, career changes, facing mortality with aging, and many more. If Alliance is unable to assist a person with what they need, a referral is made out of the agency to the most appropriate treatment provider.
The following quote speaks to the the overall goal we hope for ourselves and others. Alliance Counseling is here to help you!
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. –John Lennon
