We’re very excited to announce a new beginning! Drs. Ward and Coomer Eyecare is now Sage Peak Eye Care! The same doctors and staff who have been serving our local community, but now under a new name! Head over and like our new page and share to spread the word! We are so thankful for our patients and community for their support!

Our staff took a break to view the solar eclipse together. We hope everyone else wore protective eyewear while viewing!

Tomorrow, a TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE will occur.

If you plan on watching the partial phases of the solar eclipse, which happen before and after totality, it is important to use safe solar viewing glasses (“eclipse glasses”) or a safe handheld solar viewer. LOOKING AT THE PARTIALLY ECLIPSED SUN THROUGH SUNGLASSES, A PHONE, CAMERA LENS, BINOCULARS, TELESCOPE, OR ANY OTHER OPTICAL DEVICE IS NOT SAFE…. EVEN WHILE WEARING APPROVED ECLIPSE GLASSES!!!! The concentrated solar rays can burn through the filter and cause serious eye injury. Trust me. I have seen it many times before. Solar maculopathy is permanent vision damage.

The next total solar eclipse will occur on August 23, 2044, but will only be visible in Montana, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Another total eclipse will occur on August 12, 2045, and will be visible from northern California to Florida.

Dear patients: BOOK YOUR BACK-TO-SCHOOL EXAMS NOW!!!!!

We are extremely proud to serve the eye care needs of so many people in Barren and many surrounding counties. That unfortunately leads to our doctors’ schedules filling up quickly. WE ARE CURRENTLY BOOKING EXAMS IN JULY. We would love to see your families so call the office soon if you need exams for early next school year. We have a handy cancellation list, but it helps to pre book. Thank you for your continued support of our office. We love our patients!
