This weeks morning juice from my Fit Italian Meal Plan! And I have to be honest, not my favorite recipe but it’s packed with nutrients, antioxidants & anti inflammation ingredients! I think the grapefruit was extra sour which is overpowering the yumminess of the other ingredients … but I’m going more for nutrtion than taste 🙂 And I have found that this morning juice has dramatically decreased my bloat, inflamation in my hands, and morning puffiness in my eyes … I really struggle to stay hydrated!I just cant seem to embrace drinking so much water! So heres the recipe!
Recipe for two pitchers
8 cucumbers fro my garden
Ginger
Turmeric
3 lbs celery
6 lemons
4 large grapefruit
8oz water to each pitcher. Make sure you keep in the fridge! I try to drink a pitcher a day!

After many many requests, I have added two classes to Sundays. 8AM: TRX/Pilates Fusion Power Hour (it’s really 45 minutes, but hour sounds better) followed by a 9:15AM 45-minute hot yoga class. What’s TRX? All core all the time. Your core will be fully engaged during every single exercise.
Have an injury? TRX exercises can be modified and incorporated into a rehabilitation program.

So I hope I do not get excommunicated from the Italian community but I had to share one of my new recipes for Fit Italian. This is Spaghetti with homemade pesto from my garden, jumbo shrimp and …. Cottage cheese. Please don’t hate me! It was delicious!!! (Traditionally we would use ricotta, but cottage cheese has much more protein) Next time I will blend the pesto & cottage cheese better, but I just had to share because I’m so excited that this yummy dinner was under 400 calories and 32 grams of protein! Put Mange! in the comments and I will send you the recipe! MANGIAMO!🇮🇹

The benefits of a regular yoga practice are well-known, from helping with arthritis pain, to increasing mobility, to relieving stress, to even aiding in weight loss goals. There are many different types of yoga that help with their own variety of health concerns. So, what about the benefits of hot yoga?
Hot yoga, can seem intimidating to a yogi novice, but when you crank up the heat in your daily flow, you may be able to reap even more health benefits!
One benefit is:
Increases your flexibility which is great for enjoying , , and evetyday life!
Hot yoga can also reduce the risk of injuries as opposed to regular yoga practice. This is because it elevates the core body temperature, warming your muscles and increasing blood flow, which increases flexibility and reduces muscle stiffness. This also results in an increased range of motion, allowing you to stretch deeper into poses than yoga practiced in cooler environments.

I get this question at least once a day, “What do you need: Pilates or Weights or Yoga?” and my answer is always the same! Your body needs all of them! Each method has “cross-over” benefits yet have different focus. Your beautiful mind and spectacular, perfectly designed body needs: Pilates focusing on moving from your center or “core” and the functional aspect of using your own body’s resistence. You need Weights to increase strength. Yoga will above all else increase your mobility, range and flexibility in the low back, shoulders, and hamstrings. On average, 160-pound person can burn around 183 calories an hour with traditional yoga. And by adding heat, researchers at Colorado State University discovered the calorie burn can be as high as 460 for men and 330 for women during a 90-minute Bikram yoga session. (We have Bikram Yoga Monday nights with Gianna!) And Hot yoga, even if it’s not quite as intense as a Bikram session, will buStudio Just bies than a traditional yoga workout.
