Advocacy Alert! CT legislation to create clawback time restrictions has been proposed. If you are a mental health provider, this is huge. Currently there is no time restriction for clawbacks, meaning insurance can go back years and clawback. This legislation would limit that to just 2 years. Please consider submitting testimony in support for HB 7039 by February 27th. You can find a template for MFTs (easily editable if you are another license type) and instructions for submitting here:

Are you a Mental Health Provider who wants to no longer pay initial or annual licensure renewal fees? Make sure you are submitting testimony in support of SB 1246, where it was proposed to remove these fees.
CTAMFT has a template that is easy to use and can be easily adapted for other mental health providers. If you are an MFT, simply add your name into the template, save as PDF and upload to the cga website- it takes 2 minutes! You can find the template and submission instructions here:https://networks.aamft.org/.../leg.../advocacy-callstoaction
Testimony must be submitted by this Wednesday, February 26th!

Let's ensure MFTs continue to practice in CT! The simplest way to support CTAMFT is simply by joining as a member. You can join here by scrolling down to the Connecticut Geographical Interest Network and selecting "join now": https://www.aamft.org/AAMFT/ENGAGE_and_Network/Geographic_Engagement_Programs/ENGAGE_and_Network/Interest_Networks.aspx?hkey=dd1e4976-ab93-4045-9946-f5d5b383db2b

Today is the day!

Traditionally, Giving Tuesday has been a day to donate to nonprofits and organizations that are important to them.

We thought it would be an PERFECT day to make a push for CTAMFT membership.

While your membership is not a traditional "donation", your dues are used to keep our volunteer organization running, to pay for our lobbyist, to help us with executing the spring conference, and so so so much more! If you haven't joined yet, put it on your calendar to join next week on Giving Tuesday and begin taking advantage of all of the membership benefits while also knowing you are part of something BIG - helping to keep pushing the field of MFTs forward in CT!

Ask us if you need help with joining - we are here to answer any questions you have!

Advocacy is so important to making sure that our profession is protected and is able to provide much needed services to our clients. This morning I'm learning about how MFTs can advocate here in CT- did you know many of these efforts take less than 3 minutes? Or that CTAMFT's lobbyist to protect MFTs in CT is fully funded by member dues?
