Richmond Ruff House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, foster based volunteer dog rescue organization serving Richmond, VA and the surrounding counties.
Interacting with patients, bringing them back to the patient room and going over medical information, cleaning room for the next patient of the day, taking digital x-rays, removing post op bandages/casts, autoclaving instruments, E-RX medications, restocking rooms, pulling charts for the week, keeping the doctor on time for the day, if comfortable possible suture removal, preparation for procedures in the office (ingrown toenail, tendon release, wart removal, biopsy, etc), call patients on the phone, putting shoes and compressive socks on patients, apply creams-bandages etc., speaking with patients on the phone, knowing how to take patient payments, scheduling an appointment if needed, constantly walking and standing at the office with patients and lots to do.
It's a small office so we work with each other and help each other out with everything if needed. Our office has great patients so being honest and respecting them and their families is important.
You will need effective telephone skills, work independently and be self directed, work with high volume-fast paced office on certain days and other days independent working
Qualifications
Physical requirements-physical stamina-standing and walking around all day, bending, lifting
Computer skills-E-RX, if needed scheduling patients, maintaining medical records
Ability to interact in a pleasant and professional manner with patients and staff
Organizational skills and ability to prioritize (attention to detail)
Punctual for work and using time appropriately
Confidentiality and HIPAA compliant
Effective Telephone skills with patients
Hours: Tuesday and Thursday are full days from 7:15--5 (or 6 pm) whenever done seeing patients, this can vary depending on who cancels or who shows up late or how the day is going. It is a doctors office!
Monday and Wednesday are a half day but it can go from 7:15- 1 pm or 2 pm or 3 pm depending on emergencies, laser treatments and just running behind schedule. Friday is almost always no patients due to the doctor being in surgery, So Friday can be catch up of getting rooms ready, pulling charts for the week, laser treatments, calling patients, etc. Working at a doctors office you will have to be flexible.
Expectations:
$18.00-22.00 an hour depending on experience. We provide no benefits or Healthcare.
If you do not have all the experience we are willing to train you. If you are willing to learn new things and want more knowledge we can work with you. Immediate opening.
