We’re honored to support Rock Recovery at their Breaking Bread Gala — an evening centered on connection, hope, and healing.

Events like this highlight the power of community in recovery. When individuals and families come together, meaningful conversations begin and lasting change becomes possible.

Social media is a major part of daily life for many adolescents and young adults. While it can foster connection and creativity, it can also impact how individuals see themselves.

Photo-editing apps and filters make it easy to alter appearance, from smoothing skin to reshaping facial features. Constant exposure to these altered images can distort self-perception and contribute to body dissatisfaction.

Research has linked social media use to increased risk of disordered eating behaviors, eating disorders, and “Snapchat dysmorphia,” where individuals feel pressure to look like their filtered images.

Conversations around body image, media literacy, and mental health are key to building healthier relationships with social media. Read more here:

There is no single path to recovery, and choosing the right treatment matters.

Aster Springs is proud to be a member of the REDC Consortium, which partnered with the National Alliance for Eating Disorders to create:
REDC Consortium Guidebook for Choosing Eating Disorder Treatment in the Age of Hybrid Care.

This guide was developed to help individuals, loved ones, and providers navigate today’s complex treatment landscape—offering clarity on what quality, evidence-based care looks like and how to determine if a program is truly the right fit.

Healing happens in the everyday moments, too — outdoor movie nights under the stars, cookie decorating classes filled with laughter, and weekly visits to a yoga studio next door led by an eating disorder–informed instructor who understands the journey.

Recovery is about more than treatment. It’s about rebuilding joy, community, and trust in yourself.

This NEDA Week, we celebrate the spaces and experiences that remind our clients they are not alone.

At Aster Springs, we know guilt and shame often keep people from seeking eating disorder treatment. These feelings can make you question whether you’re deserving of help — but shame is part of the illness, not a reflection of your worth.

You deserve support, healing, and compassionate care. Watch the video below to learn more and take the first step toward recovery.
