🎓 Empowering Our Team Through Education 🌟

At LifeSpire of Virginia, we believe in the power of learning and in supporting our team members every step of the way. This year, the Virginia Baptist Homes Foundation awarded over $40,000 in scholarships to 35 incredible recipients, this includes team members, their children or grandchildren pursuing higher education.

🌞 Sizzlin’ Summer Success! 🌞

Last week, The Chesapeake's community came together for the Sizzlin’ Summer Sale, their first-ever yard sale for a great cause, and the results were nothing short of amazing! Thanks to generous donations, enthusiastic shopping, and the hard work of 10–15 dedicated volunteers who sorted, priced, and kept everything running smoothly, we raised $1,225 for the Chesapeake Benevolence Fund! 🙌

But the impact didn’t stop there: we also donated an estimated 200 lbs. of clothing, kitchenware, and miscellaneous items to the Peninsula Rescue Mission Thrift Store. Their team was thrilled to see us arrive with a bus full of unsold treasures!

Since 1946, LifeSpire of Virginia has been committed to shaping the future of aging services, investing in innovation, wellness, and community connection.

That vision continues at The Chesapeake, where we recently broke ground on a brand-new covered pickleball pavilion, a vibrant space for not only fitness, but fellowship and fun.

This project was made possible through the generosity of a resident, Barbara Howell and her late husband David. The Howells shared a deep love for The Chesapeake. By giving back to their community, they envisioned the pavilion as a space for all to connect in fun and friendship. Their legacy will live on in the memories and fellowship that will flourish within its walls. We are also deeply grateful to GC Commercial, our construction partner, who made a significant contribution to bring this vision to life.

This new amenity is only a part of our ongoing effort to create spaces where residents thrive in every stage of retirement. At The Chesapeake and across LifeSpire communities, the groundbreaking never stops, because neither does our commitment to excellence in aging services.

We're proud to see team members receive recognition for their hard work and generosity! Congratulations to Brad and Lakewood on this honor!

Our very own Security and Safety Manager, Brad Muranko received a Commending Resolution today from Senator Schuyler VanValkenburg (Schuyler VanValkenburg for Virginia) in honor of his participation in the 6-day, 469.1-mile Blue Ridge Parkway Ride to Rid Alzheimer's fundraiser.

Way to go Brad 👏 and thank you to the Senator for joining us today!

Today we commemorate and reflect on , a day that marks freedom and new beginnings in our nation’s history.

On this day in 1865, news of freedom finally reached the last enslaved people in Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. We honor the resilience and contributions of generations who have shaped the story of freedom and progress for all.

We’re excited to congratulate Lisa Hawthorne (Legeer) on her appointment as President and CEO of Willow Valley Communities!

Lisa has spent almost four years with LifeSpire of Virginia as Chief Officer of Strategy and Integration, providing leadership for initiatives such as the onboarding of The Summit and the rebrand and growth of AgeSmart. Her efforts have left a lasting impact on our communities, and we’re so grateful for everything she brought to LifeSpire. We wish her all the best in this exciting new chapter!
