During traumatic events, the mind doesn't just record, it also scrambles to analyze and predict. Creighton does a fantastic job of walking through his psychological response to a traumatic event, including the aftermath, in a factual, nonpartisan way that is...refreshing.

And admirable. It's a hard watch, but a good one.

Grandma said nothing good happens after midnight.
Chris Williamson from Modern Wisdom came up in the night life as a club promoter and says that after 1:00am it's a rule- it's almost entirely downside to be out that late. Go home and get that deep sleep, or if you're going to be out, stay sharp and learn to manage emergencies.

Zombieland continues to deliver timeless wisdom, as evidenced by preventable tragedies.

1) The only thing that keeps other cars from running red lights is their own attentiveness. Do not trust this, and be sure to look (especially left) going through intersections.

2) Large vehicles feel safe, but they're not. In this case in Michigan, a pickup ran a red light and hit the driver side of a 15 passenger van with ten people in it. People from both vehicles were ejected. Six people dead.

2a) On the large vehicle front, school buses should have seatbelts, and if they do, kids need to use them. On the first day of school in Leander, Texas- rollover accident with 42 kids on board, nine of them and the driver injured, two of the kids lifeflighted.

Buckle up.

Knives are very, very dangerous, and you usually won't see them coming.

We are learning new details about the deadly stabbing of a San Francisco man last weekend. He has been identified as Colden Kimber, 28, a beloved cyclist and hockey player.

Kimber was headed home waiting with his girlfriend for the Muni train after having lunch. According to court documents, he was trying to protect a mother and her two children from a stranger yelling at them at the bus stop. He "decided to position himself... so should anything happen, (he) could intervene and protect those around him."

More details on that, and how his co-workers are remembering him here: https://abc7news.com/17397767/
