The mission of Mattie Smothers Foundation Inc.(MSFI) is to break the chains of homelessness, poverty and to raise the awareness of elder abuse. Our goal is to create a stress-free environment which inspires, empowers and equips others with the necessary life skills which will help them to rebuild their lives. Too many of our seniors are being mentally, physically and yes spiritually abused and le

ft alone to die. Mattie Smothers Foundation, Inc. is that voice that will make a loud noise about what is taking place in the Elderly Community. Giving back by providing food, aid with medical appointments and ensuring that he/she is receiving the proper benefits and care. We can not address these issues alone, but with your support, we can move mountains. Get involved by making a monetary donation, volunteering your time or the giving of items. 🦋 Butterflies in Heaven — A Memorial Evening of Remembrance & Healing 🦋

This one is close to my heart.
There are mothers who have never had a public space to say their baby’s name out loud. There are families carrying a grief the world does not always see or acknowledge. There are people who have lost a loved one and feel completely alone in it.

This October — Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month — we are creating that space.
Butterflies in Heaven is a FREE community memorial event in Maryland, held at sunset, outdoors, under the open sky.

We will gather to honor every angel lost through —
🤍 Pregnancy Loss
🤍 Miscarriage
🤍 Stillbirth
🤍 Infant & Baby Loss
🤍 Loss of a Loved One
The evening will include:
🕯️ A candlelight ceremony
🎵 Live worship music
🙏 A guest speaker
🖼️ A memory table — bring a photo, a name, or a memento of your angel

You do not have to have it all together to come. You just have to come.
Bring a photo. Bring a memory. Bring your tears. Bring a friend who is grieving.

This event is completely FREE and open to the entire community.
