THE BUNNY HOP ALERT: “Bunnies remind us that the smallest moments bring the biggest joy.” - Joan Raite

Spring is here, and so are the bunnies! Residents of Safe Harbor were overjoyed to welcome these adorable furry visitors, bringing a true sense of the season indoors. There was something so special about watching everyone light up as they gently held the baby ducks, chicks & bunnies, stroked their soft fur, and shared in the simple, heartwarming experience.

Laughter filled the room as residents reminisced about past springs and shared stories, all while showering the babies with love and affection. These sweet interactions not only brought smiles but also created a calming and joyful atmosphere for all. It was a beautiful reminder of how meaningful these moments can be—connecting with animals, with each other, and with the happiness that springtime brings. 🐰🌷

APRIL FOOL'S ALERT: "Warning: High levels of fool-ery ahead!” - Some Jokester

April Fools’ wouldn’t be the same at The Regency without our beloved Annual Comedy Show—and this year certainly delivered! Laughter filled the room from start to finish as residents gathered for an afternoon of pure joy, connection, and good humor.

The Regency’s very own funny man, Pat Marone, took the spotlight and absolutely stole the show. Known and loved as an incredible chef, Pat proved once again that his talents go far beyond the kitchen. His comedic timing, quick wit, and relatable humor had everyone roaring with laughter and hanging on to every punchline. It’s safe to say he’s just as masterful on stage as he is behind the stove!

Joining him was his equally entertaining friend, Tugboat Manny, who brought his own unique style of comedy and had the audience in stitches. Together, they created the perfect duo, keeping the energy high and the laughter nonstop.

From chuckles to full-on belly laughs, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room—only happy tears from an afternoon filled with joy. Events like these remind us just how important it is to come together and enjoy life’s lighter moments.

It was truly exactly what we all needed—an unforgettable afternoon of laughter. We’re already counting down the days until next year’s show!

SOME BUNNY LOVES YOU ALERT: “Life is better with a little hop in your step.” - Easter Bunny

The Spring Egg Hunt at The Regency was truly a wonderful success! With over 1,500 filled eggs hidden throughout the community, residents enjoyed an exciting and festive day searching high and low, sharing laughter, and celebrating the joy of the season together.

Adding to the fun, the Bunny made a special surprise appearance—thank you to Bunny Maida for bringing smiles and a touch of magic to the day! Moments like these are what make our community so special, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.

Wishing all of our residents, families, and friends a beautiful and joyful Easter and Passover filled with happiness, peace, and time spent with loved ones. 🌷🥚

EVERYONE WAS IRISH ALERT: “May your home always be too small to hold all your friends.”

Yesterday, The Regency’s Royal Couples brought pride, spirit, and a whole lot of green to the Glen Cove St. Patrick’s Day Parade! ☘️

Leading the way were our Regal King, Dr. Anthony Bruno, and Queen Carolyn Willson, former Deputy Mayor of Glen Cove, whose warmth and joyfulness truly embody the heart of our community. Representing Safe Harbor in grand style were King Arnie Levin and Queen Nancy Long, who fully embraced the festivities and celebrated with pride.

We were thrilled to have two cars in the parade—one driven by Larry and the other by Erica—adding even more Regency spirit to the route. And let’s just say, Frankie (Erica’s daughter) absolutely stole the show, tossing beads and chocolates from the sunroof and delighting everyone along the way!

Back at home, residents lined the dining room and sunroom windows to take in the excitement, while a few brave souls bundled up and cheered from outside despite the chilly weather.

It was truly a fun-filled day for all—full of laughter, community pride, and a little Irish magic! ☘️

LET'S TRY AND CATCH A LEPRECHAUN ALERT: "May your troubles be less, your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.” -Irish Proverb

Feeling the luck of the Irish was easy at The Regency this St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀 Residents and staff were decked out in their finest green, filling the community with festive spirit and smiles. Dr. Matt kept everyone on their toes with a lively trivia hour, while guests enjoyed delicious Irish coffees and Chef Pat’s homemade scones. I

In the kitchen, residents had a wonderful time baking cupcakes and piping colorful icing, adding their own sweet touch to the celebration. Others struck a pose in front of our pot of gold backdrop, capturing memories full of laughter and joy. Chef Pat made his famous corned beef and cabbage—truly a St. Patrick’s Day classic. One thing is for sure—we are feeling especially lucky to share these moments together!

IRISH CHEER ALERT: “May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.” -Irish Blessing

Thank you to Glen Cove’s favorite singer, Gaitley Stevenson‑Mathews, for surprising our residents during lunch with a beautiful rendition of the beloved Irish classic Danny Boy! 🎶☘️

Resident Martha O’Leary was especially touched by the heartfelt performance, as her own son is named Danny. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and a little Irish spirit as residents joined in the celebration.

In true St. Patrick’s Day fashion, Martha joked, “I didn’t have children—I gave birth to leprechauns!” 🍀

Happy Saint Patrick's Day to all!

ITS JUST A NUMBER ALERT: “Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.” -Anonymous

Residents, family, and friends gathered at The Regency Senior Living to celebrate an extraordinary birthday—George McIlhenny’s 103rd. Affectionately known by all as “Mr. Mac,” the beloved former flight instructor was honored with a lively party surrounded by those who know him best, including family members. Also, several of his former students came to the party. Many of them, who have gone on to long careers flying commercial and private jets and are now retiring themselves.

Adding to the magic of the afternoon, a beautiful performance by “The Songbird” filled the room with music as guests celebrated the remarkable life and legacy of Mr. Mac. His daughter, Nancy Long—also a resident of The Regency—beamed with pride. Nancy is considered Regency royalty after being voted one of the Queens of The Regency and will proudly ride in the upcoming Glen Cove St. Patrick's Day Parade this Sunday.

A special thank you to Pam Panzenbeck and Donna McNaughton for stopping by to help celebrate this incredible milestone with Mr. Mac and his loved ones. Moments like these remind us that at 103 years young, life is still meant to be celebrated in grand style!

WE'VE GOT HEART ALERT: “Take care of your heart—it beats quietly for you every second of your life.” ❤️ Dr. Badhey

In honor of Healthy Heart Day, the energy at The Regency was absolutely full of love, learning, and lots of heart! Our wonderful house cardiologist hosted a special “Smoothie & Learn” session in the theater, where residents gathered to sip on delicious, heart-healthy smoothies while gaining meaningful tips on keeping their hearts happy and strong.

Dr. Badhey shared simple yet powerful advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, reminding us all that small daily habits can make a big difference.

Congratulations to our lucky raffle winners, Dorothy and Joe, who took home festive heart-themed prizes!

To show just how much we appreciate Dr. B’s dedication and weekly visits to The Regency, we surprised him with a beautiful heart statue for his office—a small symbol of the big gratitude we feel.

Check out Dr. Badhey and Mr. & Mrs. Downes!

Healthy Heart Day was not just about wellness—it was about connection, gratitude, and celebrating the LOVE that keeps our community beating strong every single day. ❤️
