Many of my patients struggle with vein disease which often manifests as painful leg heaviness and fatigue. I sat down with Dr. McWilliams of McWilliams Vein Center the other day to get further educated. Here’s what I learned….
📢 a diseased/dysfunctional vein in the leg puts undue stress on the other veins…which causes inflammation and swelling (and PAIN)
📢When the diseased vein is treated, overall circulation is improved which reduces inflammation and pain.
💡A consultation with Dr. McWilliams includes expert-level ultrasound evaluation of the veins and a detailed explanation of treatment options. What I really appreciate about him is that he is PATIENT-centered…which means he is conservative in his approach most concerned about the well-being of the patient (not his bottom line). That means he is not going to recommend unnecessary procedures. 👍

“I must’ve slept wrong, my neck hurts.” When patients tell me this, I will ask if they were exposed to wind in the last couple of days? Sore neck is a very common symptom that accompanies windy weather changes. And it’s more likely that the sore neck is a result of this exposure than the sleeping position.

Believe me….it’s a thing!

In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) diagnosis, we call it wind-cold. Often times, the patient may also notice that they are coming down with some mild cold symptoms like a runny nose and/or sore throat.

Guess what!!!!?!?! Acupuncture treats ALL OF THIS beautifully. So at the first sign of a sore neck or cold symptoms, give me a call!!!
