A word from our Executive Chef:

"My name is Roberto Lopez, and I would like to introduce myself as your new Executive Chef. I am proud to have served as the Executive Chef at Brookdale Lake View, where I had the privilege of leading our culinary team for the past 18 years. My career in the culinary arts spans over two decades, including five years as Sous Chef at The Hallmark, Brookdale and four years at the Omni Orrington Hotel.

I am a graduate of the Washburne Culinary Institute, and I am honored to serve on the Advisory Board for the Brookdale Culinary Arts Institute. Over the years, I have been fortunate to earn recognition in several chef competitions. I have also enjoyed holding resident menu chats, chefs' demonstrations, and designing extra special dining experiences. As I continue my journey with Brookdale, I am very excited to become a part of the Glen Ellyn community. I am looking forward to meeting all of you."

The Brookdale Caring Circle, consisting of residents, and the Brookdale Fun Committee, consisting of staff, joined forces to assist the Glen House Food Pantry with a donation! Numerous boxes of needed groceries were also dropped off to be distributed to those who live, work or attend school in DuPage County. We are thankful for the generosity of our staff and residents at Brookdale!

Brookdale in Glen Ellyn celebrated Veterans Day with 40 heroic veterans. We had a nice luncheon while on Veterans Day as each veteran was awarded a certificate, pin and a round of applause! Thanks to our heroes in uniform!
