The biggest risk factors for developing breast cancer are being female and aging…both which are out of our control. However, you can decided what you put into your body and what you do with your body.

Moderate exercise 5 times a week, 30 mins at a time has been proven to decrease a person’s lifetime breast cancer risk. My advice to patients, the best exercise is the one that you can do consistently.

Thank you Power Yoga Flow of Clifton, Mountainside Medical Center and Clifton Department of Health for inviting me to a lovely evening of hot yoga and breast cancer awareness talk. To be honest, this was my first yoga session in over a decade and it felt so good! My previous body didn’t appreciate yoga as much as my current body.

Moderate exercise 5 times a week is proven to decrease breast cancer risk. What kind of exercise do you enjoy doing? I mix it up with Pilates and cycling. Perhaps I will add yoga to the mix now!

Not going to lie. I find it extremely hard to balance work life with my personal life. Recently, my kids complained that they’re the only ones in their class that go both to pre care and after care. My husband complains that I am always working when I am at home and not present. My company wants me to see more patients. 😢

How do other working parents make it work? I am open ears for tips!

When I am not seeing patients in the office and just going to the hospital for my OR cases, I dress casually and then change at the hospital into my green scrubs.

I always try to blend in with the volunteers. Do you think it works?

Congratulations to my amazing friend Dr Yolanda Tammaro!! Her patient wrote a book about her cancer journey. And then dedicated a chapter about her influence during that difficult time. Yolanda was awarded her for her amazing work and immense dedication.

No filter needed because these women are already so beautiful inside and out!!! Wouldn’t you agree with me?
