Why It Works Wednesday

Your physical therapist may use hands-on care to help some people move with less stiffness or discomfort. This is often paired with guided movement.
✅ Tip: Hands-on care supports movement, it doesn’t replace it.

Why It Works Wednesday

Your physical therapist looks at how the spine, muscles, and movement patterns may be linked to ongoing back pain. This helps guide care based on symptoms rather than guesswork.

Why It Works Wednesday

Pain, stiffness, or deconditioning can change how people move during activity. Your physical therapist assesses patterns to guide care focused on comfort and tolerance.

Our Story

Established: February 2nd, 2009

After working for a large physical therapy corporation, my vision was to create a small practice with a warm, friendly, family-like environment that provided the highest quality of care for patients. When I first opened, I had to work alone. Stacey, my wife, was my “remote receptionist” answering calls from home while caring for our 10-month old daughter, Angelina. My wife’s unlimited support and encouragement and seeing my daughter’s big, beautiful blue eyes were all I needed to motivate me to work harder than ever before. For months, I worked at two other physical therapy clinics while teaching at Mercy College to make ends meet until eventually, I was able to get Glen Rock PT off the ground.

MY BIG BREAK

At first, I did whatever I could to get patients in the door; doctor’s lunches, visiting/networking with local businesses on Rock Road, handing out fliers at the Boro Hall Train Station, and calling local establishments such as the Glen Rock Jewish Center or Glen Courts to offer to lecture on topics of interest related to Physical Therapy. Early on, my first big break came as a result of bringing lunch to the office of Dr. Charles Carozza, a well-known orthopedic surgeon in Ridgewood. Dr. Carozza was the only doctor who invited me to sit and have lunch with him. He had a genuine interest in who I was as a person and what I was interested in outside of physical therapy. I later found out that the fact that I closely resembled his nephew, also named Paul, helped to make a lasting impression. It was Dr. Carozza who sent me my first patient and to this day, continues to refer patients to my practice, including his own family members. I am eternally grateful to him for believing in me. Whenever I would thank him for trusting me to care for his patients, he would simply say “if you didn’t do a good job and treat my patients well, I wouldn’t send anyone to you, so keep doing what you’re doing”.
