Why It Works Wednesday
Your physical therapist builds care plans around symptoms, functional limits, and recovery goals. This helps ensure recommendations fit the individual, not a one-size-fits-all routine.
✅ Tip: As symptoms improve, some people later transition into general fitness programs.

Shoulder pain can sneak up on you slowly or hit you all at once. One day it might be a dull ache when you reach overhead. The next day, it’s sharp pain when you try to lift groceries, sleep on your side, or get dressed. When that happens, most people start looking for answers—and fast.

Why PT is the clear choice for shoulder pain
This year we're going to share with you "Dollars & (Common) Sense" reasons why physical therapy is the best first choice for many common muscle and joint pains. We will also share four great video exercises to maintain mobility in that area. This January, we start with the shoulder. http://glenrockpt.com/library_nl_7439

Why It Works Wednesday
When pain is repeatedly aggravated by daily activities, your physical therapist considers how habits and tasks interact with symptoms. Small changes may help reduce flare-ups for some people.
✅ Tip: What helps is individual, which is why assessment matters.

Why it Works Wednesday

Why It Works Wednesday
Your physical therapist looks at how joints, muscles, and everyday movements may be linked to neck or back pain. This helps guide care based on your symptoms rather than assumptions or generic advice.
✅ Tip: Understanding what aggravates symptoms often helps guide better care.

Contact The Practice
Send a message to Glen Rock Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation:
After working for a large physical therapy corporation, my vision was to create a small practice with a warm, friendly, family-like environment that provided the highest quality of care for patients. When I first opened, I had to work alone. Stacey, my wife, was my “remote receptionist” answering calls from home while caring for our 10-month old daughter, Angelina. My wife’s unlimited support and encouragement and seeing my daughter’s big, beautiful blue eyes were all I needed to motivate me to work harder than ever before. For months, I worked at two other physical therapy clinics while teaching at Mercy College to make ends meet until eventually, I was able to get Glen Rock PT off the ground.
MY BIG BREAK
At first, I did whatever I could to get patients in the door; doctor’s lunches, visiting/networking with local businesses on Rock Road, handing out fliers at the Boro Hall Train Station, and calling local establishments such as the Glen Rock Jewish Center or Glen Courts to offer to lecture on topics of interest related to Physical Therapy. Early on, my first big break came as a result of bringing lunch to the office of Dr. Charles Carozza, a well-known orthopedic surgeon in Ridgewood. Dr. Carozza was the only doctor who invited me to sit and have lunch with him. He had a genuine interest in who I was as a person and what I was interested in outside of physical therapy. I later found out that the fact that I closely resembled his nephew, also named Paul, helped to make a lasting impression. It was Dr. Carozza who sent me my first patient and to this day, continues to refer patients to my practice, including his own family members. I am eternally grateful to him for believing in me. Whenever I would thank him for trusting me to care for his patients, he would simply say “if you didn’t do a good job and treat my patients well, I wouldn’t send anyone to you, so keep doing what you’re doing”.
MY OFFICE MANAGER
Jeannie Stillwell started as a patient at Glen Rock PT during the summer of 2009. She offered to “fill in” as an aide while an employee of mine was away on vacation and she never left! With her fun, playful personality, sense of humor, and experience in customer service, I quickly realized that she would be a tremendous asset to my practice and asked her to become my Office Manager. Jeannie’s dedication, loyalty, hard work, and belief in my vision has helped to make GRPT what it is today.
MY STAFF
Throughout the years, one thing that has always meant a lot to me is when patients compliment the staff. Whether it’s the skills, level of knowledge and expertise possessed by the therapists, the compassion and personal attention shown by the aides or the warm, caring manner in which Jeannie and the others in the front office interact with patients, from the time they first call to the time they are discharged. Working with such amazing individuals is one of the things I enjoy most about coming to work each day and I am extremely proud of what we’ve been able to build together, here in Glen Rock.
