This past Friday, I had the privilege of attending the Spring Luncheon on behalf of . The event celebrated Women's History Month and benefited the bergenPAC Performing Arts School and their special needs performing arts program.

The luncheon was hosted by Nina Pineda , chaired by and celebrated the achievements of 15 time Tony Award winning Broadway & Film Producer , with a keynote by Tammy Murphy.

The event featured wonderful performances by violinist , vocalist .lee13, and the bergenPAC pre-professional dancers.

A big highlight of the event was the amazing food and service from La Promenade of Tenafly! My colleague .taneja and I both have food allergies and restrictions. We usually go to an event and either are unable to eat anything or are given a plate of overcooked grilled vegetables and rice. bergenPAC's event director coordinated an allergy-friendly, gluten-free, vegan option for us from La Promenade. We agreed that it was hands down the best entree we have ever had at an event. 🙌 It was a wonderful quinoa and chickpea salad inside of a roasted butternut squash. So filling and full of flavor! 😋 We are so grateful for all of their help!

Such a wonderful day for such a great cause! 🫶

What an amazing event on Friday! 🤩The North Jersey Chamber of Commerce International Women’s Day Business Summit was wonderful celebration of female empowerment. 💐 Congratulations to Michelle Vernuccio, Lauren Zanca, and their team for organizing such a fabulous event as always.

It was also great to see Sigma Delta Tau - Montclair State University there volunteering. We are so grateful for how much they have helped us on events for Mission: Kid Success. Best volunteers ever! 💗

So grateful to have been there representing THREE Proactive Wellness 💗. Thank you to Christina DeOliveira for all of her help!

They are in the process of moving so I stocked up during the transition. My order came just in time for Thanksgiving 🙌🦃

Very happy son today after finally getting over to in Chatham! He kept asking me when we were going to go there since their Morristown location sadly closed last year. We were passing by the Chatham location today and stopped in for a quick lunch.

We had the Hot Roast Beef with GF Gravy and Grilled Chicken with Argula and Balsamic. Both were delicious and served on crusty GF sub rolls. 😋

One of the owner’s sons has celiac so they really understand and have a separate GF prep area. Everything on the menu can be made Gluten Free! 💗💗💗

They have lots of Gluten Free items as well including baked good from like these bread chips we picked up.

Such a nice place with great, friendly service! We can’t wait to go back.

Thank you so much Susanne at for going out of your way and being so amazingly accommodating for my gluten and cow’s milk dietary restrictions! The food was amazing! 😋❤️❤️❤️

I received a happy surprise in the mail when I got the menu from Donna’s Pizza in Saddle Brook, NJ (formerly Donnagio’s). They now have a full Vegan menu and a full Gluten-Free menu! So with a combo of the two, there are some extensive GF DF options.

We ordered Gluten Free Grilled Chicken Parm with Vegan Cheese which came with GF Penne. We also ordered a GF Calamari Salad.

The food was good! 😋However, the Chicken Parm was packed in a bag with regular Italian bread and a pack of regular Parmesan cheese. 🤦‍♀️

I called there to confirm that the food in the containers were actually GF DF and they confirmed it was but that the bread and cheese packet were not. I expressed my concern about packing non-GF DF items with the GF DF items and that it may confuse someone with an allergy and they eat it thinking it’s GF bread or vegan Parmesan. Hopefully, they will not do that again in the future.

So if you have Celiac or a true allergy to Wheat or Dairy, I would steer clear of ordering from here.

For a sensitivity where a possible cross contact is ok, this is a great convenient option.

I’m excited about ordering from there in the future for parties so my son has a little sense of normalcy.

.newyork Part 3 of 3

Thank you to for tipping us off to the rice and veggie bowl at Brickbeard’s Marketplace. We unfortunately didn’t follow their advice to bring our own tamari or coconut aminos, which it really could of used. But it’s a great option for those that need to eat gluten-free and vegan.

We had it as more of a side to the hamburgers with gluten-free bun since the fries everywhere in the park have wheat in them.

Swipe to see the allergy binder sheet.

Wasn’t the greatest meal but it was a quick and sufficient dinner before heading off home.

.newyork Part 2

After lunch, we tried to get the famous Granny’s Apple Fries. We had these 5 years ago at and they were gluten free and vegan and AMAZING! They used to be coated in cornstarch.

Sadly, this is no longer the case. They are now “pancake battered” and contain gluten and dairy. 😭😭😭 Swipe to see the allergy binder. The items with no allergens are the gummy candies they put on the sundaes. 🤬

Luckily, there was a cart called City Scoops in Lego City that happened to be open when we were there. I have heard that they are not always open. They serve sorbet which is gluten and dairy free. 🙌 We got the Pineapple Sorbet which totally hit the in the hot weather. 😋

Part 1 - We finally got over to .newyork which is just a short trip from Bergen County, NJ. The food is not particularly great but they did have decent options for those with gluten and dairy sensitivities. They also had allergy binders at each location which detailed out which allergens are in each item. However, they have disclaimer signs everywhere that all food items may contain wheat, dairy, soy, eggs, nuts, etc so if you have serious allergies and cross contamination is a big issue, I would either eat before or bring something with you.

For lunch, we ate at Smokey’s Brick-B-Que which is pretty close to the entrance. This spot definitely has the most gluten-free, dairy-free options available. (Swipe to the end to see the allergy binder info on each item). However, the food is all out like a Chipotle so if you have serious allergies, I would try to talk to a chef. Also definitely not a place for vegetarians/vegans.

We got the Brick Trio Platter which included Pulled Pork, Smoked Chicken and Kielbasa. The Kielbasa does contain dairy so I gave this to my younger son who doesn’t have a dairy issue.

We also got the Beef Brisket platter. Both platters have a choice of 2 sides. We were able to have the coleslaw, potato salad, and baked beans. The fries throughout the park are coated in gluten and the corn has dairy.

The Coke BBQ sauce is gf df but contains fish. They also had packets of a different BBQ sauce as well that was gf df and no fish.

The BBQ was good and filling and this would be where I would eat again if we returned. 👍

Sadly, my last post about . 😢 Back to reality!

We were lucky enough that the Epcot Food & Wine Festival was going on while we were there. 🍽🙌 We ended up extending our tickets by a day so we could enjoy it.

We enjoyed the Spain spot where the Paella and the Seafood Salad were both gluten and dairy free. The cashier called the chef to confirm.

I also tracked down where everyone got the cute drinks in the long flutes to a cart in Italy - Limoncello Spritzers 😁I checked the brand of alcohol they were using that it was gluten-free but I would double check it in case it changes.

Pick up the little booklet at the entrance that shows the offerings at each location. Most options that are GF are indicated as such in the booklet but there are some items that can be modified to be GF.

For example, the falafel in Morocco is also gluten-free and dairy-free if you omit the pita. They called the chef and confirmed. 👍

Oh Be Our Guest, what happened to you?!?! You were my favorite at but now so disappointing. 🙁 This was the only meal during our whole trip that was bad. I really hate being negative on here but this needs to be brought up.

I don’t even have pics of our appetizers and entrees. The first reason was because it was super dark in the West Wing room which I have never been in before. The worse reason was I think I was in shock with how small the portions were. 🔎

In terms of them being allergy-friendly, that still remains. Our server was very helpful and said that they could modify almost anything on the regular menu to be gluten and dairy free.

The GF Parker House Roll style bread was delicious and the macarons for dessert were very good but that’s where the good parts ended.

We ordered the Octopus Salad for appetizer and it was like 4 little piles of octopus on this huge plate. The Octopus was super rubbery too.

My son’s Filet Mignon was a normal size for Filet Mignon but I asked for it to be cooked medium and got well done.

My Pork Tenderloin was 4 little circles of pork and 4 little pieces of vegetables on a huge plate. One of the pieces of pork was all fat.

So disappointing as this really was my favorite place to eat in years past.

The bill was almost $350 for 4 people with 1 glass of wine. I wish I saved my money. 😫

Has anyone else been there recently? What was your experience like?

The Mexican pavilion at Epcot has always been our favorite because of the atmosphere so we always make reservations for the San Angel Inn. The menu has changed a lot though from what we were used to. Very limited choices. Most of the adults in our party actually opted to order stuff off the kids menu which our waiter let them do.

San Angel is not a Disney owned restaurant so I know allergies are always more challenging to deal with there.

They modified the Tacos de Ribeye for us to be gluten-free and dairy-free. They were good just not what we were used to there.

I was happy to learn from our waiter that the chips were safe (please confirm if you go). I was prepared with our own bag of chips from Walmart if they weren’t.

My Blood Orange spicy margarita was delicious so I was happy 😁

According to my son, this was the best meal of our trip - gluten-free, dairy-free pizza at Pinocchio Village Haus at Magic Kingdom at . 🍕😋

We only got it only once even though he wanted it another day. With multiple allergies, I didn’t feel comfortable ordering this item on the Mobile app and I wasn’t waiting on that line again 😂

Very yummy though and super cheezy!

Fun and delicious dinner at Teppan Edo at Epcot. 🇯🇵They cooked the gluten-free, dairy-free meals before the meals for the rest of our group on a clean Hibachi grill in front of us. I personally prefer this to having the food cooked in the kitchen.

We also could have the salad with the ginger dressing. 🤗 Most places we can’t have the ginger dressing and end up with plain oil and vinegar so this was a nice surprise. 👍

Our waiter and the chef were both wonderful and very concerned with keeping our meal safe for us.
