🦋 Parents—want more flexibility to support your child through the Regional Center? The Self-Determination Program (SDP) lets you design services around your child’s goals and family routines. You choose providers, set priorities, and manage a flexible budget with a clear spending plan that ties to the IPP.⁣

🦋 Who’s eligible? Any eligible Regional Center consumer (voluntary). Some children under the age of 3 qualify if they meet Lanterman (WIC 4512) criteria (they can stay in Early Start with an IFSP).⁣

1. Take an SDP orientation (SCDD or your Regional Center)⁣
2. Create a person-centered plan + IPP⁣
3. Set your budget & spending plan⁣
4. Choose your FMS⁣
5. Consider an Independent Facilitator.⁣

🦋 George Dancel began his ABA career in 2009 as a Behavior Interventionist and quickly advanced to being an Assistant Clinical Supervisor, providing support to staff and families while gaining hands-on experience across adult group homes, client homes, school, and community settings. He became a BCaBA in January 2011 and, after earning his M.Ed. in ABA from Arizona State University (ASU), then a BCBA in August 2018. His background includes conducting FBAs, writing BIPs, training staff, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.⁣
⁣
🦋 George also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), where he conducted neuropsychological research on Alzheimer’s Disease and presented findings at national and international conferences. His academic achievements include the NIH Minority Access to Research Careers Fellowship and the Northeast Alliance for Graduate Education & the Professoriate Summer Fellowship for his research in neuropsychology and autism screening.⁣
⁣
🦋 Licensed as an LBA in Washington State (2020–2021), he later returned to California, where he now serves as Quality Assurance Consultant & Clinical Supervisor at ERA Behavioral Solutions—overseeing programs, ensuring fidelity, and mentoring clinicians.⁣
⁣
🦋 A dedicated father of two boys, a 16-year-old football player and a 9-year-old soccer player, George blends professional expertise with his own parenting, using ABA to support growth, resilience, and independence. Outside of work, George enjoys coffee, spending quality time with his kids, attending music festivals, and immersing himself in all things Sci-Fi—whether events, activities, movies, or books.

🦋 Learning a new skill is just the first step — being able to use that skill in different places, with different people, and in new situations is where the magic happens ✨⁣

👉 A child may learn to wash their hands in the therapy center… but can they also wash their hands at school, at home, or in a restaurant bathroom?⁣

🦋 By practicing across people, places, and situations, we ensure skills aren’t “stuck” in one setting — they become real-life tools for independence.⁣

Nairy Karakashian is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and currently serves as a Clinical Supervisor, where she oversees client programs, provides clinical guidance, and supports families in achieving their goals. In her role, she also mentors and trains therapists, ensuring high-quality and compassionate care while fostering professional growth and confidence in her team.⁣
⁣
🦋 Before becoming a BCBA, Nairy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge (CSUN) and completed her Master’s Degree at Pepperdine University. Her experience spans home, school, and center-based settings, giving her a well-rounded foundation in Applied Behavior Analysis that she now brings into her leadership role.⁣

🦋 Outside of work, Nairy loves traveling (recent trips to Greece and Italy were highlights), exploring new fitness classes like Lagree and Pilates, and spending time with her sweet dog, Biscuit. She’s also an avid reader and cherishes time spent with friends and family. ⁣
