Dear ones,

I serve on the board of directors of the Mountain Grove Center, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization located on 416 acres in rural southern Oregon.
Since its founding 50 years ago Mountain Grove has created and hosted a succession of land based community and educational projects.
Our land is a breathtaking blend of meadows, forest and gardens, creeks and wetlands,
with a scattering of community, residential and farm buildings.

Today, the land is ripe and ready to be reborn into the next incarnation of our mission:
“To provide sanctuary and stewardship … partnering nature and the human spirit”.

Listening deeply with our hearts and souls to the voice of the land we are wondering:
Who of you reading this is capable and interested in reinvigorating this sacred land?
Do you have the vision and desire to birth transformative educational projects?
Skills to help further develop our infrastructure?
Grant writing experience for fundraising?
Capital to create and develop physical resources?
Wisdom and motivation to join our advisory board?
Leadership experience in consensus based community or sociocracy?
Do you seek a place to share and manifest your dreams?
Perhaps our beautiful Mountain Grove land is seeking you?

If this resonates please contact me via FB messenger (or my email if you have it)
and let’s see what happens

Sincerely and on behalf of the Mountain Grove Center
Howie Woodwind Morningstar, MD

Women’s Vision Quest at Mountain Grove Center in 2019
This year we are pleased to host on the land a women’s Vision Quest for 6 participants. Many contemporary wilderness rites of passage, including ours, provide an opportunity for each participant to listen, and pay attention on a deeper and wider level to discover their healing and empowering vision to strengthen who they are and how they show up in their lives, their families,
their work and their communities.
A Vision Quest is an ancient cross cultural practice, a wilderness rite, an ancient process of seeking insight, healing, and a deeper connectedness to all our relationships.
This wilderness rite embodies three ingredients: solitude, fasting from daily life, exposure to the natural world and three phases: preparation, solo time, and incorporation.
The 4 co-facilitators have participated in several Vision Quests themselves. On each of these Quests, their Guides were trained through the School of the Lost Borders. School of Lost Borders | Teaching Rites of Passage for 35 Years

Also incorporated into this quest are teachings received from the many Elders and teachers who have inspired the facilitators on this path. Some of these Elders are still connected with the Wilderness Council, having led wilderness quests for over 40 years, and still leading and participating in quests themselves.

Another excellent website where you can learn more about the Vision Quest Ceremony in general through the many informative links is: http://wildernessrites.com/
Contact us at visionquestinfo@yahoo.com if you are interested in more detailed information about this year’s women’s vision quest at Mountain Grove Center.

We offer: wilderness vision quests and rites of passage, earth-based healing practices, self generated ceremony and rituals, seminars/trainings in council practices, deep listening and the medicine wheel. The practice of Ecopsychology and ecotherapy are also offered by a qualified licensed practitio...
