🎃This Halloween, you might spot a pumpkin that's different from the typical orange!

A teal pumpkin means a child might have a food allergy. If you're offering something other than candy at your house this Halloween, set a teal pumpkin outside so kids know to stop by.

A blue pumpkin or bucket means a child may have autism, could be non-verbal or have sensory sensitivities. They may communicate or interact differently, need a little extra time, or quietly enjoy the moment without saying “trick-or-treat.”

Whether they ring your doorbell or their parents do, let's remember to meet each trick-or-treater with patience, encouragement, and big smiles this Halloween. 💙

A visit to the pumpkin patch isn’t just festive, it’s full of sensory-rich learning opportunities.

Let your child explore the textures, colors, and sizes of the pumpkins. Talk about what they see and feel. Give choices: “Do you want the bumpy one or the smooth one?” Take your time, follow their lead, and enjoy the moment.

Fall fun can also be therapeutic, especially when it's tailored to your child’s pace.
