Join us for an intentional evening of gentle movement, heart-centered reflection, and ceremonial cacao.

Together, we’ll create space for a kind of inner spring cleaning: releasing stagnant energy, softening emotional tension, and planting seeds of renewal.

Whether you’re feeling heavy or hopeful, tender or energized—this is a space to meet yourself exactly as you are and to honor whatever is ready to shift.

❤️ In many heart-opening postures, the freedom of the shoulders begins with a small but powerful action:

👉the rotation of the upper arms.

When the upper arms gently roll outward, the collarbones broaden, the chest lifts, and the shoulder blades settle more naturally onto the back. This creates space across the front of the body without forcing the lower back or neck to do the work.

❌ Instead of pushing into a deeper backbend, try focusing on this subtle rotation. Let the upper arms spiral outward, soften the grip around the neck and jaw, and allow the heart to rise from a place of support rather than strain.

Often, the posture will feel more spacious, steady, and easeful with far less effort.

💕 Heart-opening is less about how deep you go, and more about how intelligently you create space.

Linda’s got all the tricks and tool in her bag, to create space in your shoulders!

💯 100 classes at Kula—what a beautiful milestone.

Showing up once takes intention. Showing up a hundred times takes commitment, curiosity, and heart. It’s a quiet kind of dedication that builds strength, softness, and resilience over time.

We’re so grateful to be part of your practice and your rhythm. Thank you for trusting this space, these teachers, and this community with your time and energy.

Here’s to the next 100 classes, and all the small, meaningful moments in between. ✨

Heart openers aren’t something we force—they’re something we allow.

When we use props, we give the body permission to soften. A block, blanket, or strap can hold the weight we’re used to carrying, so the chest can open naturally instead of being pushed there. Sometimes that softening feels unfamiliar, even a little vulnerable. But that’s part of the practice: letting go of expectations and trusting the process.

In the Yoga Sutras, Patanjali describes posture as sthira sukham asanam—a balance of steadiness and ease. Not just effort, not just comfort, but both working together.

Props offer the steadiness. Our breath and attention create the ease. And from that balance, the heart opens in its own time.

💖 Opening your heart doesn’t start in your chest.
It starts in your feet.

Before we lift, expand, or reach into any backbend, we have to feel the ground beneath us. A steady foundation makes space feel safe. Without it, heart opening can feel more like falling than rising.

It’s true off the mat, too.
When life asks us to be more open, more vulnerable, more present, we don’t start by forcing the heart wide. We start by grounding. By building steadiness. By finding our footing first.

From there, the heart opens naturally.

Join us this week as we play with different variations of heart openers.

Post yours and don’t forget to tag us! 💚
