Hi there,

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Holly Kilian and I am the founder of the Green Yoga Foundation.

My intention behind starting this organization is to incorporate the transformational practice of yoga into a community that gives back to environmental and community projects.

The world needs us to do something so why not start right here, right now on a personal level and allow that radiate out!

Finding the inner peace to allow all things to flow through.

Our bodies and minds have the a remarkable ability to adapt and change. This change occurs when we are able to see our truest selves. All versions exist and an awareness around these aspects of ourselves can help us heal and nurture what needs that and ignite and shed layers that need that. To best approach this change a mindfulness practice, such as yoga and meditation, can help the self to witness the self from a neutral and compassionate place.

Results of Mindfulness are calmness, awareness, compassion and an increased ability to regulate emotions and restless thought. Mindfulness improves metacognative ability meaning it allows us to notice thoughts and their patterns. This is an incredible tool in giving ourselves what we need to become the person we are destined to be. Who we want to be.

Taking the time to invest into ourselves and our development never stops. Remember to take your time this year ✨ it's your most valuable asset

The gong has an incredible way of sending vibrations through the body to energize the cells. This can be an incredible catalyst for change at a cellular level. I (Holly) had experienced this for myself for the first time many years ago and since then the gong has always fascinated me. In 2020 I took a training in Hatha Gong to deepen my experience with the gong.

This New Year we will be ringing in 2023 with a Gong Ceremony at Spirit of Yoga on Sunday 1/8/23 at 2:00pm. I hope you can join us for this experience.

Fill a glass of water lovingly

Take 10 to 30 seconds to center yourself

Find the breath within the body

Recognize that the body is made up of majority water

take 3 breaths in gratitude for the water within and the water that you are about to receive

speak love/gratitude to your glass of water

With eyes closed lovingly take a drink of water

Observe the water as it travels throughout the body

Repeat this as often as you feel called to

Here and now is all that really exists. The past is behind us and the future is unknown. Staying present is one of the benefits of yoga. The practice of yoga allows us to more easily return to a relaxed, at peace state after we experience a stress that requires a response.

Patanjali’s Eight Limb Path

Yama - Relates to the 5 key ethics. How do we wish to carry ourselves in this life? 

Niyama - Relates to 5 key internal ethics. How do we practice ethics with ourselves? 

Asana - The physical practice of yoga. These are the postures and the movements of yoga. This is the value rooted in physical & mental health. These postures have many physiological and psychological benefits and support the whole person.   

Pranayama - Prana is life force energy. The practice with pranayama is most observed with breath, which allows us to connect to the energy that exists within each of us. Know thyself. 

Pratyahara - Withdrawal of the senses allows us to turn into the existence that lives between all things, the space between. There is a value in being with all that it is.

Dharana - Single point of focus, or control of the mind allows us to live beyond perception. The value is having the ability to control the mind, the mind does not control us. You are the creator of your reality. 

Dyana - Stillness, where the mind quiets and disappears. The value is peace of mind. We can calm the mind and allow all to simply exist in neutrality.

Samadhi - You become aware of all that is. You merge with all that is. This is bliss
