Let’s talk about the "Doula Difference." 🕊️

When people hear the word "doula," they often think of someone who just holds your hand. While that emotional support is a huge part of what I do, doula care is actually rooted in evidence-based practices that significantly impact your birth outcome.

According to the data, having a doula on your birth team can lead to:
✨️Lower chances of medical interventions and a reduced likelihood of a Cesarean birth.
✨️A shorter labor length, as we use physical support and movement to help baby navigate the pelvis.
✨️Increased confidence through advocacy and personalized birth preference planning.

As your doula, I’m not just there for the mama. I’m there to provide support for your support person, ensuring your partner feels equipped and not overwhelmed. From the moment labor begins until you initiate breastfeeding with your new little one, I am your constant source of physical, emotional, and mental support.

Every birth is sacred, and every mother deserves to go into her birth room feeling seen and supported by a team that honors her choices.

Are you planning your birth team for 2026? I’d love to chat about how I can support your vision. Click the link in my bio to book an inquiry call!

Seven years ago, a 6-pound boy changed the trajectory of my life forever. He was the one who first made me a mother, and he is the reason "Beloved Motherhood" exists today.

Watching my firstborn grow into this seven year old version of himself is such a gift. He is energetic, full of big ideas, and has a heart that is so bright. I see so much of God’s creativity in the way his mind works and the way he loves his siblings.

Motherhood isn’t always quiet, and it isn’t always easy, but it is the most sacred work I’ve ever been entrusted with. As I "cultivate" our home this year, I’m reminded that these years are the foundation for the legacies we are building.

Happy 7th Birthday to my adventurer and the boy who started it all.

Hi friends! Since we are officially kicking off February, I wanted to open up some space for "Real Talk."

In my work with Beloved Motherhood, I hear so many questions that moms are sometimes nervous to ask their doctors or even their friends.

Questions like:
🤔 "Is this normal during the first week postpartum?"
🤔 "How do I know if my baby is actually getting enough milk?"
🤔 "What does a doula actually do during a hospital birth?"

There is no such thing as a "silly" question here. Whether you are currently expecting, deep in the newborn haze, or just curious about how doula support works here in the East Valley, I’m an open book.

I believe that Encouragement + Education = Empowered Motherhood. When we have clarity, we can lead our families with more peace and less fear.

Drop a question in the comments or send me a DM if you’d rather keep it private. I’ll be hopping in throughout the day to answer!

Hey mamas! In my work with breastfeeding families here in the East Valley, I hear a lot of the same worries pop up. It is completely normal to feel a bit unsure, especially when you are trying to navigate those early weeks while keeping the rest of the house running.

Education + Encouragement = Empowered Motherhood. So, let’s look at the three most common questions I get asked as a lactation supporter.

1. Is my baby getting enough milk?
Since we don’t have ounce markers on our breasts, this is the number one fear! The best way to know is to look at the "output." If your baby has plenty of wet and dirty diapers and is gaining weight well, they are getting what they need. Trust your body and your baby’s cues rather than the clock.

2. Why does it hurt?
There is a common myth that breastfeeding just hurts at first. While some initial tenderness can happen as you both learn, actual pain, cracking, or bleeding is a sign that the latch needs a little adjustment. You don’t have to "tough it out." Often, a small shift in positioning makes all the difference.

3. Do I have a low supply because my breasts feel soft?
Actually, soft breasts are usually just a sign that your supply has regulated! Around 6 to 12 weeks, that "full" or engorged feeling often goes away because your body has figured out exactly how much milk your baby needs. It doesn't mean the milk is gone; it just means your body is being efficient.

You are doing a beautiful job tending to your little one’s needs. If you are struggling with any of these, I’m here to help you find that "grace-filled foundation" for your breastfeeding journey.

Any other Call the Midwife fans out there? 🙋‍♀️

I saw this quote from Trixie and it immediately made me think of why I started Beloved Motherhood. In the show, they are midwives handling the medical side, but this specific sentiment is the soul of Doula care.
As a doula, I don't "deliver" babies. I nurture mothers.

I believe that birth and postpartum are sacred, grace-filled foundations for your family. My job isn't to take over or tell you what to do. It’s to provide the encouragement and education you need so you feel empowered to make the best choices for your birth.

I want every mama in our Maricopa and East Valley community to feel the way I see them: beautifully brave and fully supported by the love of Christ.

Dads Get Postpartum Depression, Too.

We often focus so much on the mother’s recovery that we forget the father is going through a massive transition of his own. Statistics show that roughly 1 in 10 dads will experience Paternal Postpartum Depression (PPPD).

What’s wild is that it isn't just "the baby blues"—it’s actually biological. Research shows a man's testosterone levels can drop during this time, making him more prone to irritability and withdrawal.

If you notice your partner is working more than usual, losing his temper easily, or seems "checked out," he might not be "being difficult"—he might be struggling.

How to help:
🥳 Encourage "Dad-only" time. Building that confidence in caretaking helps lower his anxiety.
😴 Prioritize a sleep schedule. Sleep deprivation is a primary trigger for mood disorders.
🗣 Talk about it. Normalizing that fatherhood is hard removes the "tough guy" stigma that keeps many men silent.

In our home, we ask: “What am I cultivating in this season?” Sometimes, we have to cultivate the father’s heart just as much as the mother’s.

To the mom feeling invisible: I see you. ❤️

Lately, I’ve been thinking about the trade-offs we make. We talk a lot about what we give up to raise these little souls, and the list is long. But when I look closer at what has been "lost," I realized that God has been busy planting something else in its place. 🌱

🏠 I lost my personal space, but I gained being the safe harbor where my children always find rest.

🎶 I lost my choice of music on car rides, but I gained the sound of little voices singing at the top of their lungs in the backseat.

🕊️ I lost my quiet, but I gained a home bursting with the holy noise of a growing family.

⏳ I lost my time, but I gained a front-row seat to the miracles of life unfolding in real-time.

⚓ I lost my ability to do whatever I want, whenever I want, but I gained a calling that is far bigger than my own whims.

🌙 I lost my sleep, but I gained those sacred, middle-of-the-night moments where it’s just me, my baby, and the presence of God.

👯‍♀️ I lost my old friend group, but I gained a sisterhood of mamas who understand that "the village" is a lifeline, not just a phrase.

🧶 I lost my hobbies, but I gained the art of finding joy in the simple, stolen moments of creativity between the chaos.

🛡️ I lost my old confidence, but I gained a deeper reliance on God’s strength because I finally realized I can’t do this on my own.

✨ I lost my old personality, but I gained a heart that is softer, more patient, and more like Christ than I ever thought possible.

Motherhood is a process of being pruned so we can bloom in ways we never expected. If you feel like you’ve lost yourself lately, just remember what you are CULTIVATING. You aren’t losing your life; you’re pouring it into a legacy. 📖

Which one of these resonates with you most today? Let’s encourage each other in the comments. 👇

I spend so much of my time listening to birth stories, and I am always struck by the same thing: no two are ever the same, but every single one is a testament to your incredible strength. Whether your story felt like a quiet prayer or a mountain you had to climb, it matters.

I see so many of you walk into the postpartum season feeling a bit shell-shocked by the intensity of it all. I want to remind you today that the strength you found during labor did not disappear the moment your baby was placed in your arms. It is still right there inside you, helping you navigate the late nights and the steep learning curves of those first few weeks.

Every little life is a miracle, but you are the heart that holds it all together. If you are craving a space where your story is honored and your transition into motherhood is supported with grace rather than "hustle," I am here for you. You were never meant to walk this path alone.

I often talk to mothers who feel overwhelmed by the "rules" of breastfeeding. If you feel like you are failing because you aren't following a specific clock or schedule, I want to invite you to take a deep breath.

Breastfeeding isn't about rigid efficiency; it's about a relationship.

These 7 Natural Laws (from Nancy Mohrbacher) remind us that our bodies and our babies are designed with incredible wisdom. From understanding that your body is your baby's "natural habitat" to realizing that every couple has their own unique rhythm, these principles are meant to take the pressure off.

I believe that when you have the right education and a heart full of grace, you become truly empowered. You don't have to hustle for a supply; you can cultivate it by trusting the way you were made.

If you are in Maricopa or the East Valley and need someone to walk alongside you in your breastfeeding journey, I am here. You don't have to do this alone.

Let’s talk about values for a moment.

In a world that tells us to rush through recovery and "bounce back" after birth, I want to offer you a different perspective. At Beloved Motherhood, I believe that birth is a strengthening space and postpartum is meant for your rest and bonding.

As a doula and breastfeeding counselor, my goal is to nurture the mother as the heart of the home. I want you to feel empowered by education and anchored by faith. You were never meant to carry the weight of motherhood alone.

Whether you are local here in Maricopa or joining me from across the East Valley, I’m here to walk alongside you with nonjudgmental, spiritually grounded support.

01/02/2026

The "New Year, New Me" noise is everywhere right now, isn’t it, Mama?

Everywhere you look, there’s pressure to "bounce back," set massive goals, or overhaul your entire life. But when you’re in the thick of motherhood ~ whether you’re expecting or navigating the postpartum haze ~ sometimes you aren't looking for a "new you." You’re just trying to find the real you again.

The truth? You don’t need a resolution; you need a little more grace and a lot more support.

I believe that reclaiming yourself in motherhood isn't about doing more ~ it’s about leaning into the identity God gave you. It’s about making informed choices that feel right for your family and finding a community that hears you without judgment.

If you’re in Maricopa or the East Valley and you’re feeling a bit lost in the transition, know that you aren’t meant to do this in isolation. Let’s walk this season together, rooted in faith and real support. 🤍

How are you actually doing today? No "resolutions" allowed in the comments, just honest hearts. 👇
