The GE Invenia ABUS is an FDA-approved 3D breast ultrasound system that helps to detect breast cancer in women with dense breast tissue.

Approximately 40% of women have dense breasts, one of the strongest common risk factors for developing breast cancer. The mammography is stretched to its limits when dealing with dense breasts - about 33% of cancers in dense breasts are missed⁵.

3D Breast Ultrasound with GE -ABUS

Invenia ABUS 2.0: the only ultrasound technology FDA-approved for breast cancer detection in women, specifically developed to help doctors find cancers hidden in dense breast tissue, which may be missed by mammography; however, Invenia ABUS screening is completely unlike a mamogram. A layer of lotion is applied to your breast, and then a scanner is positioned to acquire images within 15 minutes without heavy compressions or radiation.

• Women with dense breast tissue, breast implants, and younger women benefit significantly from ABUS. Dense breast tissue can make it difficult to detect abnormalities on mammograms because both tissue and tumors appear white. ABUS, however, uses sound waves to create clearer imaging.
