5 Small Ways to Be Kinder to Your Heart This Week

Your heart does a lot for you - emotionally and physically. Being kind to it doesn’t have to mean a big life overhaul. Sometimes, it’s the small, intentional moments that matter most. This week, try one (or a few) of these:

🩵 Pause before pushing through
🩵 Let go of one “should”
🩵 Breathe a little deeper
🩵 Move in a way that feels kind
🩵 Speak to yourself with compassion

No perfection required. Just care.

If you need a little extra help with these, get matched with a licensed therapist at www.elliementalhealth.com.

We're still in the first month of 2026 and the world is a dumpster 🔥. Everywhere we turn, there is a something else, worse than before and we feel like we're drowning. Our nervous systems are on overdrive and constantly flooded with stress hormones. Guess what? The system is working as it is designed to! 😡 It is meant to destabilize us, to instill fear and hopelessness. AND our bodies are functioning in the way they are biologically designed to as well! We are responding to both real and perceived threats, against our selves, our communities, our 🌎!
So what do we do about it?! 1️⃣ recognize what is happening! Awareness/identification are 🔑. We have a CHOICE of what we allow in. It's one thing to actively seek out *credible* resources to stay up to date on the news, it's another to doom scroll on social media. 2️⃣ listen 👂 to your body!! Many of us are in a 'functional 🥶' state, meaning we go through the motions of the day, our responsibilities, etc. but are completely disconnected from our own bodies. How does anxiety/overwhelm FEEL in your body? 3️⃣ take intentional breaks! Our 🧠 wants to be "in the know" of all that is happening constantly; it gives us a false sense of control. Breaks are essential for nervous system regulation. 4️⃣ Build COMMUNITY!!! Being connected to others is the crux of human nature; it's what makes us feel safe and capable to do hard things.

Boundaries aren’t walls.
They’re the quiet practice of checking in with yourself first.

Before you pour into someone else,
pause.
Notice your own cup.

Is it empty? Half full?
Still warming in your hands?

You’re allowed to refill before you give.
You’re allowed to say “not right now.”
You’re allowed to protect your energy without explaining yourself.

A full cup doesn’t make you selfish.
It makes what you offer sustainable.

☕️💛
